"Serenity" - My M101A2 expedition trailer build

A stock A3 weighs in at approximately 1540lbs. My stock A2 weighed ( very past tense ) in at approximately 1340 pounds empty. The topper weighs approximately 300 pounds. So, mine is ~1850 lbs with nothing else... alas, there is more. I failed to add the rooftop tent, awnings, and rack weigh...

"Serenity" - My M101A2 expedition trailer build

I'd estimate about 1800 pounds empty.

Tepui Awning and Awning Extension Room

Yes, you can attach it to an ARB, Smittybilt, Ironman 4x4, etc. - They all use similar, if not the same aluminum extrusions with the sailtrack edges.

Tepui Awning and Awning Extension Room

Ordered. I'll now have one for each kid. I'll attach them to the port & starboard awnings on my M101A2 trailer. Gotta keep em separated.

I ordered the wrong sizes & sent them back. Mixed up the lengths & widths. Derp. I've since rethought the idea, seeing as though the trailerside of the rooms would not be perpendicular to the ground.

    HazzardSky's M101A2 Build

Suggest you talk to TitanPat57(?) and Mark Harley for axle questions - both are members here. Whatever paint you choose, I STRONGLY suggest it's something you can touch up with rattlecans; I found that I was tending to rock gouges while on the road. I later layered up (mainly) the front with...

Not sure what year - there's an image of the data plate from the topper earlier in this thread. IIRC, it came from a long bed F250.

For emphasis: do not frak with the military CARC paint - at least not without respiratory protection and protective clothing. If you are intent on having it refinished, having it done professionally, while expensive, would probably be the most time-effective and safest way of doing it. I've...

    HazzardSky's M101A2 Build

Sealing small holes (repulsively crude, but effective): 1. Sand/wire wheel off rusty bits 2. Take a sheet metal scrap (can lid, etc.), pound flat, if needbe 3. Get Industrial adhesive & Gorilla tape. 4. Apply patch from the inside; gorilla tape on the outside 5. Remove tape when dry, sand &...

"Serenity" - My M101A2 expedition trailer build

Sorry about the delay - the site server still isn't telling me when people post. I'd insulated the sides with blueboard and poly boards. It worked, but it trapped water inside it, so it had to go. I regret to inform that I've not made any further progress on it - budget, life, and a...

Thank you! The build is slow going, what with life & all... But progress is coming.

High praise, coming from you - thanks! My intention is to build a true 4 season system that will tolerate temps far below freezing. Running unheated/uninsulated lines won't be an option... I like the QD idea; saw a YT video where someone did just that.

    **Tepui RTTs and Accessories**

Put it to you this way: were you and I to ever meet, and I knew you had a bunch of tasty vacation pictures on your camera, and you had a gorgeous smile, I assure you - you wouldn't be leaving the room with both. :D

Thanks - engineering the water system is proving to be... Challenging. trying to decide if I want a truly built-in design or something in a removable "module." We'll see. I may very well be living out of it after Monday when the hurricane hits.

Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

Proper tensioning of the annex will usually prevent pooling of rainwater on it's roof. I'm toying with the idea of adding a pair of 1" straps along the ceiling to increase the rigidity of the roof there & keep the angled roof support in its proper place.

HB - Thanks, mate! Cheers! :) Scott - What are the slightly off-colored small rectangle-shaped things on the side of the trailer (I'm thinking compartment door latches / Velcro patches to hold tent sides taught)?
