SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Some updated info to answer a few questions I've been asked: Edit: The sale fell through and the shell is back for sale. Firstly, the shell is currently "sale pending," though neither party is bound by contact at this point. I will of course update this thread when the shell sells. Vagabond...

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Measurements for the top part were requested, figured I'd post them here to share with others. The 1/2" gap between between the pop-open top portion and the static lower portion is where the rubber compressable weatherproofing strip sits. It is a consistent 1/2" gap all the way around.

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Yeah that's quite nice too for strength. I'm not sure if they do this, or need to do this, on the smaller Drifter's roof.

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Ah the roof! I asked the guys at Vagabond if they could just powder coat the sides and leave the top bare metal; with mostly desert camping on the agenda, it didn't make sense to have a black roof that would absorb a ton of heat. Turns out it was a huge pain in the ass for their powder coating...

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Well I'd love to, but this is for a full-size truck -- in my case, a Tundra -- or is that thread a "everything Vagabond" kind of thread? 32+ months, wow! Yes, I've heard horror stories about the wait time from people interested in mine. People are willing to bail out of line and buy a used...

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Instead of just posting a boring bump, here's a picture of the Nomad in action right outside Winnemucca in the middle of June.

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Ha. Funny story -- it almost was! After many many, MANY months of waiting for the camper, Vagabond finally called me to schedule a pick-up date in late 2019, and sent me the invoice so I could square up with payment. I noticed the invoice said 5.5', and I called. I figured it was a type-o...

SOLD: Vagabond Nomad for 6.5' bed, Loaded (Carson City NV / Tahoe Area)

Thanks! This was installed on my truck March 2020, and I am the first and only owner. After a handful of trips out with the Nomad, I'm thinking a slightly more glampy setup would work better for me and the girl, so I'd like to sell it and see how we like pulling a small camper.

Why NOT use the stock spare tire location on a pickup truck?

On my 2018 Tundra, I upgraded to 295/75R18 tires. The spare was big enough that it no longer fit in the stock (under-bed) spare tire location without doing some mods to the mounting rails, so I just moved it to my swing-out rear bumper because I'm lazy. Also, I always just assumed the stock...

Pop-top truck camper people, how is your floor?

Hmmm bedrugs is sounding like a better option, provided they are indeed easy enough to rip out and clean.

Pop-top truck camper people, how is your floor?

Bedmats sound like a good idea, thanks! I'll probably do a spray-in liner to protect the bed from rust, and then experiment with bedmats or some other kind of thick material that can provide a little cushion and insulation. I like the removable aspect of bedmats so they can be cleaned out at...

Pop-top truck camper people, how is your floor?

So you pop up tent guys who use the bed of the truck as a camping / cooking / chill area, what kind of floor do you have? Do you love it, hate it, what are some pros and cons? I'm planning to get a lightweight pop-top tent camper, such as in the GoFastCamper or Vagabond Drifter style. I'm...
