I was a little unsure going into it to be honest. But after more research and just thinking about it, I'm not too worried. I'm not making enough power for knock to be a major issue, plus I run 94 octane up here, so again another factor to not worry too much about knock. These motors simply do...
Definitely a picky platform! But I love the Xterra regardless. The O2s and IAT are one my list. I'm waiting to do the O2s. As soon as I have the funds, I'll be ordering some DT headers, so I'll do them when I get this installed.
My light bar is a 40". I actually just took it off and sold it...
Knock Sensor By-pass
I was having some pretty terrible mileage issues with the X, as well as a heavy lack of power. I decided to look into a few options. Really only had 3; Replace stock knock sensor, relocate or by-pass. I opted for the by-pass, mostly because it was the easiest option for me...
The SR would be sweet in that! I swapped one into my old 240, but after it let go I sourced an RB20 for basically pennies, I'm not going to lie to you, I REALLY liked the RB better. Power output is extremely similar plus it is much more reliable. the SR becomes a headache over 350whp.
Rescue Duty
A few weeks ago my cousin and his wife decided they wanted to take their brand new F350 for a bit a wheeling. It didn't end well. His long wheel base ended up causing him to get stuck and twisted in a ditch. So he called me to come yank him out, while he was waiting for me he...
It's definitely a nerve racking thought! Have you seen the spray? That route you don't really run the risk of hydro locking. I was thinking about trying that to mine.

Looking great Jonny! Love the look of your X! Ours will pretty much be twins once I get around to installing my lift and ordering my bumper! Actually started following you on Instagram too.
Haha! Can't be without Timmies in Canada! Double doubles and timbits.
Ok, that makes more sense now haha! It most definitely adds up! When I finally get around to doing my rear axle, I'll be sitting around 4K just for that. I can't imagine what it'll be like for me redoing the motor/trans and...
That doesn't sound bad at all! Hopefully synthetic will quite them down a bit!
I haven't installed it as of yet! Currently sitting in my parts room collecting dust haha.
Rear Leaf replacments
Ok, so when I bought the X, it had a broken leaf on each side. Fairly typical for these older models. I wasn't too worried, as I was planning on refreshing every bit of the suspension anyway. Unfortunately I forgot to grab pictures of the broken leaf packs, as well as most...
I like to be thorough, haha. :sombrero:
Most definitely got a good deal! He had it listed for $6500, but I took my time going through it upon arrival, in doing so I discovered the leaf springs on both sides had broken leafs, as well as a few other little odds and ends that needed to be done and...
A little about myself to start
Alright everyone, I figure introductions are in order before I jump right into my build. My name is Taylor, I recently moved up to Northern Alberta from Denver, Colorado! I have built a few things over the years, ranging from MTB's to full on half-chassis drag...
