The wiring diagrams here, around page 24, as well as the wire descriptions (by colour and by harness) may be helpful! https://techwebasto.com/phocadownload/documentation/archive/blueheat/generic/5000778b.pdf By the way, I see you are running 315/80R22.5's. How do you like this size offroad...

Sticking with the e-brake on the T-136 transfer case was always the plan. It's up and out of the way from damage that way. If it worked on MLVW trucks I figure it'll be good enough for my needs.

Thought y'all might want to see my new rear end. With this, I'll be ditching the Humvee wheels and solving my weight capacity issues... Started by getting the parking...

    1959 GMC Adventure Bus Build

I'll be running these rims if I go with 11R22.5, I think: With the 77" KP Chevy Dana 60 (well, Jana 76) WMS, and a typical 74" WMS with whatever beefier rear I choose (likely a Dana N175 or a Meritor/Rockwell 15,000lb axle), I suspect the front and rear will line up nicely. Still need to take...

    1959 GMC Adventure Bus Build

Yeah, we have plenty of that up here, good call. Will be spending lots of time in Ontario, Quebec, and Vermont... Think 11R22.5 is fine to run as a singled rear? The weight capacity is perfect for that, but how's the footprint with a relatively narrow tire? The Humvees and MPT81's are both 1.4"...

I did not think of that - great point. I feel like the shoulder design... overall design, really... is similar to the XZL lugs. How does that fare in the mud?

I do indeed want an aggressive tread. Here's one 11R22.5 example of the sort of tread design I'm after: Two places - one who sold this model of tire and a similar Doublecoin one - both said they had drivers doing 60k to 80k miles (not kilometers) on them. Given I heard that number repeated...

    1959 GMC Adventure Bus Build

For those curious, here's the third option and what I'm leaning towards right now: 11r22.5 The lack of 335/80R20 availability, plus the cost - even for tires that have nearly ages out, concerns me. If tread lifeof mpt81s is only 20k to 25k miles with these, as I've read to be the case, I'd be...

So, I ended up finding MPT81's and MRAPs for practically a steal. I think I'll pul the trigger on 'em tomorrow. I'd prefer GSA's or Pirellis or something with better tread life than the MPT81's - their 25k miles is equal to the Humvee's - but I'm just happy to "upgrade" to 20" wheels and more...

Hey Abitibi, did you end up mounting your PS22's on the 20x10 rims yet? Since they're MPT-style tires, did you have problems with seating the bead properly? See what this guy had to go through to make 20x10 wheels with the same bead profile work...

    1959 GMC Adventure Bus Build

Not much to show for right now. I received some offers to teach up north, which is exciting - gives me some justification for taking the bus on the ice roads up in northwestern in Ontario - and for the R24 to R30 insulation I'm planning on. I've completed more accurate weight calculations...

    The long slow FG build!

Hey, cool seeing another Ontario build here! :) Been following along with the Youtube channel. Great work. Is this the black Fuso 4x4 that was for sale on kijiji a year or so ago?

You have the 335/80r20 Pista's, right? I've heard they're suited for 8.5" to 9.0" wide rims - any reason you went with 10"? I'm curious what your total wheel weight will be and what the axleshaft size is - if you think the larger size will at all be a problem? Good work though! Were the adapter...

Very cool indeed! Really curious to know the shaft diameter, ring and pinion size, on this beast! Do these have 17.5" wheels? 20's? Something else?

Canadian Hino Ranger FT 4x4 Crewcab

Very cool to see the axle up close! I wonder how large that ring gear is? Putting my guess around 10.5" ;) I find it interesting that all of the current and former Japanese trucks used closed knuckle designs when that has been done away with by North American manufacturers, pretty much after the...

    School Me on Heavy Trucks

OP; can you clarify what you mean by "heavy trucks?" Like others have said, what you want may be closer to the light truck side of things (though that isn't true either, as a lot of these are legally, "medium duty" class 4 or 5 trucks, not "light duty" trucks with the exception of some Japanese...

Canadian Hino Ranger FT 4x4 Crewcab

Interesting! I've been looking to upgrade from Humvee 16.5's, bought from militarytires.ca, to a 335/85R20's but have been unable to find anything with a reasonable date code in Ontario. Were the eBay ones here in Canada as well? Do you know anything about your front axle, by the way? As far as...

David, very cool rig - it's one helluva unique one! Am I correct that you got the 5 ton Titan wheels from militarytires.ca? I recognize that photo from their site. Where did you get the Pistas from? I haven't found a Canadian supplier for those... Was it CSM in the States?

Damn, a whole inch eh?! Wouldn't have thought it'd be that much. I've been following your build - I'm a fan of it! I was under the impression that all MPT wheels bead profiles were the same, regardless of if 335's or 365's were going on. Guess not eh? Given the inability to source new date code...

Thanks man - I appreciate all of that! Interesting story how I got started with all this, actually... My grandfather was a cobbler and fabricator in a small town in Ukraine, then moved to Alberta, then Ontario, where I grew up. He did the same job all his life - over there and over here. Spent...
