    Recovery Rope or Recovery Strap?

I have always preferred recovery (kinetic) straps over ropes (like Bubba ropes), because they store in a smaller space. Cheers

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Some folks remove the rocker cladding (it's not a sticker). One fella took the time to fill in (weld) the attachment holes, It came out clean. The rear bumper cladding that wraps into the wheel well is all part of the bumper. Cheers

2002 montero limited rear end rumble/vibration over 50mph

Swapping out the rear diff. bushings can be done without the rig on a lift, but it's certainly harder. A few years back I had a blinking center diff. light. I disconnected each electrical connection, one at a time, from the transfer case and checked for corrosion. I ended up cleaning them and...

2002 montero limited rear end rumble/vibration over 50mph

I wouldn't recommend the "dilution method" if you have never done a complete flush with OEM fluid. If a previous owner did not use OEM fluid, that could be the reason for the vibrations/shuddering. Complete flush takes about 12 quarts. These transmissions are bullet proof if care for properly...

Just curious...when was the last time you flushed the transmission fluid? Did you use M.M. fluid? Cheers

2002 montero limited rear end rumble/vibration over 50mph

When inspecting the front two mounts, it appears to have a line (crack) all the way around the bushing. You might also inspect your rear differential mounts. Cheers

Help with first build for my 2011 Tundra

Since you're predicting approximately 1,000lbs of constant weight, you should consider pulling the trigger on some Deaver springs in the rear. I think you'd be looking at the stage 3 springs for that weight range. Mate these with some quality shocks and coil/overs up front for a nice ride when...

SO, school me - I am a Toyota guy, with a problem....

Have you thought about something like a Geo Tracker/Suzuki Sidekick? These flat tow very well, and can wheel (when properly set up). ...a six month trip, what a blessing! Cheers

    Solar panel question

Thanks for the clarification, rruff. Does this sound about right? "Solar cell efficiency refers to the percentage of sunlight shining on each cell that converts to electricity. The combined efficiency of each cell determines a solar panel’s overall efficiency." Cheers

    Solar panel question

I'm new to the solar world, but one of the important parts that I've been looking for in a solar panel is the "efficiency" of the panel to produce power. This enables the panel to produce sufficient power in low light situations. I'm looking at a 200W panel with a 23.5% efficiency rating. Cheers

Gen III front tire 4WD lights blinking

One of the easiest starting points (and good maintenance), is applying dielectric grease to the connections for the transfer case. These can build up corrosion after years of use. Give each connection a visual inspection, clean as needed, apply dielectric grease, and snap them back into place...

    2003 montero live data reader

I use an Ultra Gauge in the Montero. Works well. The temp. gauge is a known issue. It can be repaired by removing the instrument cluster and soldering the connection, or just ignore it and keep an eye on your Gauge. Cheers
