HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

Easily. The stoves and grill will go away from the rig and this leads to the slim part of the drawer slide being in front of them.

Talked my sheet metal pal into cutting my the first chunk of backsplash this morning. I've decided to simplify things. No doubt I would get tired of turning over the little wind screens above, so we are going to imitate a Snow Peak IGT backsplash. Sorta. Here we are with a new chunk of...

    Outback Trailgater measurements please!

Hi, I'm considering an Outback Trailgater (Jeep '07 to '18 version) to mount inside the rear swinging door of my van...but it's going to be tight. Can someone that has this version of Trailgater please post the max width, height, and thickness of one? It would also be good to know how far the...

Garmin has finally "Garmin'd" Delorme InReach plans

Good to know. There are an awful lot of "not-so-good" reviews of the SpotX online. I will say that the InReach works. On rare occasions it seemed like messages came in and out slowly....but it did work.

Garmin has finally "Garmin'd" Delorme InReach plans

Oh really?! I'm going to do some reading about the X. Edit: Just did some reading. $12.00 per month for SpotX with 20 messages (Garmin gives me 10) and $.25 per message beyond that (Garmin charges me $.50 per). Qwerty keyboard. Sounds good so far. Anyone have a SpotX. Even better...can anyone...

Spot is one-way...right? I've never tried one.

Garmin has finally "Garmin'd" Delorme InReach plans

I was pretty hot earlier today. It's not the end of the world or anything. I do think it's a sign of things to come from Garmin. The easy answer (for me) is to just leave it on all year at $12.00 each month. Sounds like it costs the same either way give or take, and WHO KNOWS what else you are...

Garmin has finally "Garmin'd" Delorme InReach plans

Hmmmm. They aren't showing me the same prices and options that they are showing you. No option to suspend here. And when I click on "Learn more".... I see that they are hitting you harder than me for pricing. And, I don't see any pricing for the magical "Freedom" plan. They are holding...

Garmin has finally "Garmin'd" Delorme InReach plans

Could be. The reason I bought a Delorme was because it wasn't Garmin. Oh well, I suppose that until I find something better, I'm stuck paying $12.00 each month all year. I will not make any changes that allow them to charge me more money for the same service. I signed a contract and I intend...

Garmin has finally "Garmin'd" Delorme InReach plans

For the last several years, I've suspended my basic Delorme plan for the winter at no charge. There was no charge to activate it in the spring. I thought, "It's nice to do business with a company that isn't always trying to nickle-and-dime me to death.". I pay about $12.00 per month for service...

HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

Half the Snow Peak order arrived. The trash bag holder is kindof a joke. No idea where it is meant to mount...but I wanted it here when cooking. Falls right off of there. Howerver, a little hillbilly engineering (plus turning it over) lead to: Success! Nothing more tedious than walking back...

HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

New pots arrived today. They will work! As suspected, I can mix and match between the two set. I plan to use one stainless pan, one non-stick pot, and two lids. This stack is 5.5 inches tall at the max. I think a rubber band around them will create a rattle-free stack. One pot with...

    Let's talk frying pans

I've found that this isn't always the case. We have a local guy that restores old cast iron and sells it. Lots and lots of variety in his store. While searching for a 10-inch max pan I found a lot of old ones marked (for example) "5" that were 8 inches O.D. I guess the 5 meant the bottom?

    Snow Peak Addiction

Is that a foot pump? Pretty cool! I will probably do some sort of gravity-fed system on my setup due to having shelf storage above the IGT. My problem is that I'm really trying to have everything fit into the IGT. A sink module could be used for storage up until it's time to wash dishes...then...

    Snow Peak Addiction

IGT sinks. I found this sink and might try to fit it into an IGT. The bowl is 10w X 12 long X 5.5 deep. All a fellow needs to do is cut off one inch on each side, and you'd have a single-unit IGT module of 10 X 14. Since an IGT unit measures about 9 7/8 or 9 15/16 wide and needs a flange up to...

    Electric Chain Saw???

Gotcha. I double-checked and the Stihl battery saws are made in Germany (as are Festool).

    Electric Chain Saw???

I have the same concerns but have high hopes for Stihl to do the right thing with their batteries. For example, I've heard that they released a bigger capacity battery in 2019 and that it works with the saws and chargers from 2018 and earlier. Haven't verified that though. I've been buying...

Where did you get the little fold-up, disposable coffee filters? Those look handy.

    Snow Peak Addiction

I love the single grill box and use it on every camping trip. But, it seems like it is starving for air. I purchased the riser to help with air flow....but I dunno. Seems like it could get hotter. Has anyone messed around with their single grill and made it better? Added some new holes maybe?
