I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

Most people trade trucks for no reason what's so ever, they just want a different truck. I feel my reason is pretty valid.

I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

The specs I found from a search showed his turning circle about 15' shorter than my long bed, and about 10' shorter than a short bed crew Ford. But I'm telling you it's a huge difference; on my truck you have to be hyper vigilant to not get extremely close to everything, and I do have to make a...

I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

That's not an option as it's carved in rock and long and would cost a fortune.

I may have to switch from Ford 6.2 to Ram 6.4 :'(

But it's not what you think... I love my 2018 Ford 6.2 It is a crew cab Long bed 4x4 and is excellent all the way around. I average 16 mpg, and have plenty of power. It has been stone reliable and worked hard. But.... I just bought some property in Northern Idaho where we will be moving, it...

    2019 F350 4x4 custom HPI flatbed/AT Atlas topper

interesting. the 6.2 should have more than enough for a truck camper. I have a 2018 F250 gas and tow a huge, heavy Work and Play toyhauler all over the Colorado mountains. You just have to let her rev and it's all good. If you expect it tow at 1800 rpm like a diesel, you will be disappointed...

    F150 w 6.2L

IKR. I want a 7.3 gas in my 1996 Bronco. SO BAD I'd actually be fine with a 2017+ 6.2 but no one does those swaps due to cost and complexity :(

    F150 w 6.2L

Dude, you are the one that said a few posts before this that a 3.5 and a 5.0 embarrassed the 6.2 I said no, that they were neck and neck with an Eco and faster than a 5.0 You then argue while posting evidence fully backing up what I said but are still talking about how the 5.0 was better, and...

    F150 w 6.2L

Kinda fake news. The 6.2 in my giant 2018 Long Bed Super crew F250 4x4 gets 16mpg average. So in the smaller and lighter F150 it should do at least that good if you don't drive like a mad man. The 6.2 is one of the most durable power plants ever made. Also, same year for year F150 it...

    She’ll recommendation -2019 F150

I just bought a SnugPro topper for my F250. Seems made pretty well. Rated for 500lbs on the top I think. Best part was paying $1000 for a like new used one versus the $3700 the original owner paid. I had a basic ARE on my F150 that held up fine, most roads here are dirt and with the wash...

WTB: Ford 2017+ Long Bed Truck Cap in CO

I'm looking for a topper / truck cap / camper shell for my 2018 F250 with 8ft bed. I would prefer a DCU commercial type or a higher than standard fiberglass topper but I'm open to consider any type. I'm in South Central Colorado (Westcliffe) but don't mind riding a few hours for the right...

EPA Diesel Engine “Delete Tuning” Crackdown...Is It Here Now?

While I get it, I am not a fan of more government over-reach. I believe this to be a case of "do as I say, not as I do" The amount of pollution the US government puts out is HUGE. They DGAF. Also, what is the actual percentage of private citizens that delete their diesel emissions equipment? I...

New Rangers for good prices right now

Didn't know if anyone was in the market but Ford is having a pretty good sale on Rangers right now. Sales on all trims but huge rebates on the XLT. I got $11,500 of a well equipped XLT SuperCrew 4x4, Sport, FX4 with remote start for $27,100 OTD minus tax Hell of a lot of truck for that price...

Lets see some full size pictures...

I had been looking for a later model Bronco forever, but couldn't find one that wasn't either rotted out with 300k miles, or cost a fortune. Low and behold I spotted this one at the end of some guys drive way with a for sale sign here in the middle of no where a couple miles from my house. 1996...

    Old Junk vs. New Junk?

I'm not paying 35k for a truck thats 3 years old with 50,000 miles that I can buy brand new for 38k. Last few trucks I bought new I travelled hundreds of miles to buy them, but have came out great when selling them for the next one, losing nothing or at most a couple thousand, all the while of...

    ?’s about options on a custom order 2020 Ford F-350 6.2L gasser

That makes no sense. You sure your buddy doesn't work at a RAM dealer. We had a huge fleet of Super Duties in West TX that catch total hell and we NEVER had one in my tenure there to have a transmission issue. Also never heard of it on the various forums I am on. Oh, and how can he have so...

    Comparison shopping: Colorado, Gladiator, Tacoma

I hear people complain about the new Ranger but I've already found them for over $10,000 off. A pretty nicely loaded crew cab 4x4 with leather for $32,000 is a solid deal.

Exploring Options for an Expedition Vehicle for Global Travel

Nah, the F250 doesn't come with an overload spring like the F350 does, so you have to order the camper package to get it. I like the F250 for its more efficient transmission. The F350 tranny with its 1000 ft lb torque limit is overkill with the gas motor.

Exploring Options for an Expedition Vehicle for Global Travel

Snow Plow package will get you heavy duty front springs which will net you about 1-2" of lift on the front as well as the bigger HD alternator. Camper Package on the back gets you overload springs on an F250 which basically makes the rear end a F350. Whatever you do, get the 4.30 gears. The...

Exploring Options for an Expedition Vehicle for Global Travel

A Super Duty XL with the 6.2 gas and 6 Spd auto is as bout a dead nuts reliable as a modern vehicle gets. We had a fleet of them in West Texas and the punishment they took for hundreds of thousands of miles was amazing. I sold my 6.7 Diesel and bought a 6.2

Pop Up Truck camper for a family of 5? Possible?

I am also kicking around the idea of building out one of the empty fiberglass shells like a SpaceKap or Maranda, although I wish I knew where to look at them in Colorado in person first.
