Why I Bought a Ford F250 Tremor for a Four Wheel Campers Hawk UTE

Hoping that as 3/4 and 1 ton gas trucks become more popular, as seems to be happening, there will start to be support for aftermarket fuel tanks for gas models. love my 36 gallon tank on my F150, would seriously look at a crew cab long bed to be able to get a 48 gallon tank if/when I step up to...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

mirroring what others said, 2.7 doesn't have the max tow or max payload available. It has a 2.7 specific payload package. for the 3.5 2017 was the first year for both port and direct injection. It looks like 2018 was the first year the 2.7 got direct and port injection. From what I have seen...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I actually do notice after I fill up my truck mpg is below its my average on my daily commute until I burn off a few gallons, the 36 gallons of gas adds weight. It doesn't help that I climb 900ft in elevation to work everyday, you never make it back up coming back down hill

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I second this, 4.10 was only in raptor to the best of my knowledge. I have a 6 speed with the 3.55s behind a 5.0 and I wish I had 3.73s with stock tires. I'll swap in 4.10s if I get bigger tires. 3.73 requires max tow to my understanding which can be had on pretty well optioned trucks, heavy...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

What exactly are you looking for a in a new truck? I see in your early comments you mentioned you missed the truck feeling of your 2012 f150 compared to your current chevy, also the power of the 3.5 ecoboost. I think any new 1/2 ton will disappoint in delivering a truck like ride that your 2012...

Longterm review of the 3rd Gen 4Runner

I would love to find a nice 3rd gen to add to my driveway, I don't think there is a better all around vehicle stateside for exploration

The 5th (ish) Gen Ram HD love/hate thread

somewhere further up in this thread there was a comment about turning off the MDS, if you hit the "+" on the shifter to display gearing it would deactivate the MDS? Is this true for the 1500 RAMs as well? I ask because my fiancé had a 2020 RAM 1500, I drive a Ford and come from all manual...

Why I Bought a Ford F250 Tremor for a Four Wheel Campers Hawk UTE

I think they just meant a plain XLT and not a tremor package truck so they could get the supercab. Might also be some confusion with how the F150 Tremor is its own trim level. Shame they stopped offering the Tremor package on XLT super duty trucks.

The 5th (ish) Gen Ram HD love/hate thread

What's around town mpg on a 6.4 hemi? my 2012 F150 get about 15 on a good day, and at best 17 on the highway, no mods just AT tires in the stock size, even stayed with P metrics for weight. I push the capacity of the truck from time to time but haven't justified the jump to a 3/4 or 1 ton yet

Regular cab short bed 1/2 tons

I think a lot of us here like vehicles, overlanding is, for the most part, vehicle based exploration/travel. There are at least 100 different vehicle builds I'd want to complete at any given time, not all overland related, what it boils down to is making compromises. I drive a crew cab truck to...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Based off of recent posts I think a lot would have to do with driving style. I have 2012 5.0 with 6 speed. I don't mind the transmission but would probably like the 10 speed, I'm always trying to be in 6th gear on any back road or highway, only want to use the lower gears when needed, I'm not...

    1986 GMC S-15

Similar story here, my dad had a regular cab Toyota pickup with bucket seats when I was born, my mom got tired of riding around in the bed real quick and he bought a 1990 S10 extended cab so she could sit in the back with my car seat in the front. I grew up in that truck, my dad still has it...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Yes 2011 was first year for the 5.0. 2012 (my truck) also has the first gen 5.0. I believe second gen 5.0 was 2015 with the aluminum body trucks. 2009-2010 f150 was the 12th gen truck but still had the 4.6 and 5.4 engine as options. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't believe that asking a question on a forum led to a certified trainer in 4wd recovery to review and test the product in question during a training session. Thank you very much for taking time to review this item and for sharing your knowledge both of recovery gear and on this particular item.

    Sold my RTT...Why??

I bought a RTT and a small cargo trailer someone had "ladder rack" installed on with the tent mounted up top. trailer helps provide area to stand and close up/open up the tent but still less than ideal. This is why I'm planning to build a teardrop style camper. Maybe if I was using a dedicated...

DIY Offroad trailer Build - decking options????

I thought I made it clear that my comment was in regards to the strength of obs plywood and not its longevity in the application. I did share my own opinion that most stuff that rots out isn't properly cared for. To BuckRugged, a comment on design if you do choose to use obs, I assume you will...
