I've never been in a Tuff Stuff or 23Zero tent but I can say that almost all of these tents seem to come from the same place in China with many similarities among them. That being said, I have owned a number of different CVT and Tepui tents of this style and I think CVT was the best in my...
I'm looking at the Alu-Cab and the DFG because I need it to tilt. I'm thinking Alu-Cab because I think it has a better design but I also can't seem to get anyone to respond to me when it comes to potential vendors. I might end up with the comparable DFG.
But the battery really isn't at 11.4 because my wiring is insufficient, right?
And, fwiw, what I'm really getting at is "A Voltage to SoC chart should only come directly from the manufacturer of your batteries, or through physical testing of your own batteries, as I have done here. You should...
You know, a few interesting things happen when you look for that chart you've got there. First, you find out there's a number of other charts out there with wildly different numbers and, of course, different battery designs. Second, you get websites like this...
Wow. Not only do you know that all fridges kill your battery (or maybe they all shut off too early, still not sure which...), but you also know the specifics of my wiring system. FWIW, I'm running 8 gauge wire about 8 feet but I'm sure you'll come in here to tell me something is wrong with that.
So wait a minute, they shut off too low and kill my battery or they shut off too early? Which is it?
I'm not saying you're wrong about any of this but I am saying that what I've seen and what I've personally experienced from two different fridges doesn't reconcile with what you're saying.
My...
Interesting that you say that while both my ARB and Dometic fridges not only had a configurable cut-off but both of them, even left at their default "medium" setting, have successfully cut-off and allowed me to start my vehicle. Crazy!
So much of this depends on so many variables.
What fridge did you get?
Where do you store it?
What are the ambient temps?
What do you chill the fridge down to?
How full is the fridge?
How long is the vehicle sitting for?
How long is the vehicle running for?
Given how we use our truck and...
Oh, that's interesting. I assumed it was across all JB tents. The Evasion has what I presume to be spring-loaded struts but you have to "lock" them into place by basically pushing them past vertical (like if you were to push your knee joint backward)
I think it depends on how much you leave the fridge in your car and how long your car sits. I leave mine in the truck almost permanently. If I'm going to be parked at home for a few days, I'll run an extension cord to the truck to plug in the fridge so it doesn't drain my battery (and shut the...
Thanks for the long-term review on this. I got an Evasion XXL this year after owning way more tents then I would like to admit. I too hate the door design in these tents but I've come to live with it. My only other real complaint is the locking struts. I've had one other pop-up hardshell and one...
It's just so small though. If you look at the pictures compared to the normal 270. You can totally go "pole-less" on the larger model too. I've found that my using ratchet straps (instead of the normal buckle straps), I can get the whole thing tight enough to be open without poles with zero...
I've got 2019 Raptor with 25k on it. Snugtop Rebel and a decked system would be included. Before we even size it up, would you be interested? Never done this before ...
My cap is totally dry but I'll admit some dust makes its way into the bed (though that's more from design of the bed than the cap). If I want to take bikes somewhere, I have a hitch mount.
