Hard to beat firsthand experience. I think this is excellent information and probably the best option for the OP. An inch and 5/8 might be a little taller than the OP desires, but there’s almost always going to be a compromise that needs to be made.
If it were me I’d put OME springs in the...
The AEV 3.5” coils are good for the weight, but they’ll net more than 2.5” of lift. Going to 3.5” of lift will require more than what was likely included with his 2.5” lift. So going to 3.5” coils gets more complicated.
Also you called them “heavy duty” but the AEV “high capacity” coils are...
Do you know what lift you have? You could end up with some undesirable results if you don’t know what else you’ve got going on with your suspension. You could try helper bags in the rear springs. For new rear springs OME 2620s would get you close to that height and will handle the weight.
No doubt you got your answer after speaking with John and placing an order, but I thought I’d add for the good of the thread—with regard to the rack rails—that I recently placed an order too and had questions about the adjustable rails as well and John said they are making a running change from...
Looks good. I’d say yes, get a rear track bar bracket. I like the AEV and Mopar brackets. If your electric disco works, you can just move the rear swaybar links to the front and get longer ones for the rear. I’d get the Teraflex universal brake line brackets for the front. You probably won’t...
It’s referenced at the bottom of the JL J30 page on their website. It says:
We will offer a J30 version for the Jeep Gladiator Truck, but that will be a completely new product pre-order page, and based on how long the JL is taking probably would be a late 2020 product.
I don’t believe any cast wheels are made in America. The last company I recall making cast wheels in the US was American Eagle Alloy Wheels, but they appear to have gone under fairly recently.
Thanks for the pic. and feedback. It does look great. I have thought about the sliding windows—maybe even one sliding and one solid—to be able to vent the lower half for sleeping below.
With limited visibility out of the rear window due the the spare and AEV fuel caddy, I think I value the...
Here’s how I think I’d order mine:
Black textured shell body
white gel coat roof top
tinted quarter glass left and right
sleeper 12v outlet
headliner
load bay lighting
No wiper rear glass
I’m not sure on the roof rack or awning mounts. I might add a compact Rhino Rack batwing on the driver...
Hoping to order a J30 this year. Any owners, after using the top for a while, have any options you wish you did or didn’t do—or likewise—an option you’re absolutely glad you did?
