It's your call but I foresee it being much easier to stick another Mopar engine in there if you can have the RC sit a bit just pull the 360 and give it a rebuild if you need it running get a Junk Yard engine and then rebuild your 360.
Rockers will have no impact on overall engine temp the shaft...
Why would you think putting a Ford engine into a Dodge would a) be cheaper b)have any easier parts finding ? I can get parts for my Dodge at any parts store and have about $1000 into my 360 rebuild
If your going to have a spare box and gaskets I say rebuild it and drill the box for hydro assist even if you don't do it for some time having the box drilled is the key.

Just some sources of stuff to clean up your electrical system. I uses the Military Batt terminals which uses ring terminals to hold everything.
I get them from Wrangler NW along with any cabling (if you don't want to make your own)
then use a power post like this from West Marine...
Metclaf your arm looks good, if you don't come across studs for mounting I bought mine from Blue Torch Fab along with my arm seeing that you have access to machine services you can probably source them cheaper from a local supplier but there a option
Nope not missing anything on the T/C those holes are from when they were divorce mounted. A for spring swaps and brackets, I'll get some links but check out Jungle's parts for hardware.
Hopefully I will be swapping out these springs this spring, just unsure if I will be going with Alcans or Skyjacker 8" lift springs. I'm tired of the jarring ride with no weight on the truck (gasser)
A 6" lift spring will keep the truck where it is so a 8" would level it out if it ends up...
That's whats holding me up my springs are too thick and the tie rod hits the spring pack before reaching the steering arm, I am using Heims and could space it up but I don't want to put that much leverage in the bolts.
While Pirate is a good resource check our Ramcharger Central Here is a good discussion on spring packs, there are quite a few guys doing Chevy spring swaps.
Aftermarket direct replacement Dodge springs can ride well the go to upgrade it to use 52" Chevy rear springs up front but requires the front mount to be extended.
Great to see another Dodge kept running. I can recommend a few "upgrades" with the attached How-To's to improve the overall pleasantness of the truck.
Biggest CTD improvement is a 3200 RPM Spring
Dash LED's
Heater Blower Relay
Speedometer repair
Heater Box Clean-out
Steering shaft as you...
Great project Metcalf, just a note check out Ramcharger Central we have a great bunch of guys and a number of diesel guys in the Co area.
I will be following your build along, and will probably section my front fenders using yours as a guideline, pics of my 84
