Nice updates. Adding two BlueSea dual USB power ports was one of my better mods too, so now the family doesn't have to negotiate who gets to charge their phone/iPad first. Especially on long highway trips when the mobile devices see heavy use.
The CB looks to be in a good spot. It looks like...
Nice quality installs. I'm starting to think I should have gone for the larger BlueSea fuse block since mine is nearly full now. At least an upgrade should be simple if needed.
I run a Long Ranger 24-gallon secondary fuel tank, purchased from Man-a-fre and installed by my local Jeep/fab shop. Very pricey, but I love having it for those long trips and not having to deal with jerry cans.
I have twice had problems while off-roading with the supplied fuel pump and filter...
I use one of those GI tool bags for some of my recovery gear. It's worked great with no issues over the last ten years or so. I mostly keep soft items in it (synthetic winch line extension, kinetic hanker rope, etc.) so it gets tossed around a lot. I bought mine at a local surplus store.

I'll post...

Congrats on your new addition. Good to see folks who can appreciate the charms of more than one brand.

That said, I do prefer aluminum poles as well. But I've seen plenty of busted aluminum poles too. I suspect...
Texas is crazy big. I went to Austin several times for work and soon realized how long the drives were to adjacent states or even other areas within TX... I did make it to San Antonio and The Alamo though, since they weren't *too* far. The Alamo was totally worth it too, for me anyway.
Good...
Loved the recent thread updates and am looking forward to more. The 80 looks great with all that dirt on it. :) Best wishes with the changes in your life.
Ye gods, some kid's outdoor clothing can be so expensive, especially when they outgrow it or trash it so quickly.
One of my techniques is to shop for sale merchandise at REI, or on Steepandcheap. I recently got her a larger REI down jacket for $40, and a Marmot rain coat for about $30. In the...
I've had several good leather belts, and nylon ones as well. Some have been excellent but specialized towards a specific purpose. As an overall practical "overlanding" belt, I think it's hard to beat a $25 nylon web belt from Patagonia or Mountain khakis.
