    Adrift in Space

Yes, travel while you can. I was in a situation where there wasn't enough work for all of us as they had a family so I walked. Do it while you can. I've never regretted it.

    Timbren front bump stops

I wondered about these as well and was at my local 4X4 shop and they had them on display. I asked and the owner told me to save my money. I had a local spring shop make me up an extra spring for each corner. Drilling out the hole for the center bolt is really a pain but it rides better.

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

Not at all a price I would pay. They are just sticking in a knife and twisting it and then they would walk off with payment in hand and a big grin on their faces. If you can get it insured and plates on it, just drive it to where you are going.

on bord hot showe in 2010 jku- heat exchange with exhaust pipie?

Check out some of the boat forums, they have been doing things like this for years. If I'm around Lake Powell in the summer, after a few days there is no point in running the water heater.

    Permanent or temporary shower?

I have place for a table in mine and I used it a few times. It sits in a closet now. If I am going to be in a place long enough I will pop the top and sleep on the queen sized bed but the couch works just as well.

Expedition Vehicles: ridiculously overpriced or not

This has been an interesting read but I drive my old 1994 Mitsu where ever I need to go. Or I jump in my 1961 Jeep depending on the trail. the Mitsu is a 4X4 with a low range and works well for pulling trees out and I have had to pull F350s out of the snow with it. My daily driver is a 1986...

    Permanent or temporary shower?

One of the things I want to add is an outdoor shower so I can rinse the lake water off of me but I do enjoy a nice place to sit when I need to. I have done many bird baths or as also known pits and tits.. I've owned this camper since 1998 and I have ran out of water once.

Frame height on late model Isuzu NPS

Good question about getting a vehicle back on it's wheels. I would have just called a tow truck and let them figure it out. (I don't even know if I had a phone signal there). I was busy doing other things like getting my butt out of the ditch. Once a tow truck hooks on, it is their show. I...

    My Journey

Jerry, I hope things work out for you and you seem to be having a decent trip. Not much I can do from here but a few friends are doing camper/trailer repairs as well at this time. The only thing I did in Reno (twice) was to sleep and get the heck out of there in the morning.

Frame height on late model Isuzu NPS

Just keep everything with weight as low as possible. I was on the way to camp and got run off the road by a logging truck and I had to hit the ditch. Figured I was going to flop it but It stayed on it's wheels. Now, how do I get out of this ditch? Actually I stayed in the ditch until I found a...

Fuso RAMBLER (with bullet proof toilet enclosure)

Mine would have to built the other way so I couldn't blow the door off after some off after the things I have left in there.

    My Journey

You do what you do and I was driving back from setting up a hunting camp by Walden for friends and I got the call. (I don't hunt. taint stupid). A friend had his F350 4X4 stuck at his mountain property so I headed that way. I got him out and managed to get my 4X4 motorhome out as well. A lot of...

    My Journey

A nice report as always Jerry. What is the deal with the furnace? We were down South of Moab around Thanksgiving and a friends camper had a bad battery so his furnace didn't work. I wondered why he had his truck fired up at 3 in the morning. He eventually got up and put a large pan of water on...

    SilicaRich's Overland TJ Rubicon Build

From personal usage I would agree that you need a turbo on a diesel and if you can, get rid get rid of the EGR if possible.

The Road Chose Me: Driving a Jeep Wrangler 80,000 miles around Africa for 2 years

We went on a trip after Marks 2nd trip to Africa and my brother claimed that Marks farts rotted out the seat on his side. The lady I was with on that trip was a clinical pathologist and she wanted a poop sample to study. A few years ago he travelled with a bunch of people to South America for a...

    exhaust brake problems

Ouch. Fortunately , mine works fine. I had to replace an exhaust manifold several years ago and the price for the part was fair. I remember they told me it was the first one they had ever had to order. Not too sure how I cracked it.

The Road Chose Me: Driving a Jeep Wrangler 80,000 miles around Africa for 2 years

Dan, I'm sorry to read of your problem, (Didn't really need to see your butt). I enjoy reading about what you are doing. But I know of several people that have been in Africa on photo safaris and such. One friend spent about a year there. He was properly immunized and otherwise his solution was...

    Roam About with "Big Hank"

I've gotten fairly blasé about driving through the mountains around here until somebody posts something and on my next trip I pay more attention to what I am driving through. Your pictures are great. A side of China we don't often see.

    Keeping it simple

It looks like a CO page. Nobody has touched any of my Jeeps in over 40 years other than a tire shop. Half of the tire shop crew has to come out to look at them and tell me about their old Jeeps. I used to have access to the equipment years ago to change tires. If I wanted to drive around I had...
