The seats in a Fuso are not the best to say the least, sure they are great for a delivery truck but not for long hauls and offroad use - I have opted for these seats with the heated option which will fix that issue ;o) https://corbeau.com/susp-reclining/baja-rs.html
TIME FOR A QUIK BUILD UPDATE! Our body panels are now on a boat from China to BC due to arrive beginning of December and i have to say they look great. Same goes for the Arctic Turn, windows, doors and hatches from Prescott Arizona. The sub frame design, passthrough and rear bumper with spare...
Things are really starting to shape up with the expedition vehicle now drawings and designs all approved we are moving on to production!!! Chassis all primed and painted and a shot of the habitat panels sent from the manufacturer before shipping!!!! Excited!
You got it, that gives me some structure for Max Trax, high lift, jack, shovel etc etc on the rear ;o) For sure i will share the subframe design once completed.
It is indeed but probably just as well as i would be in the shop every day wanting to get involved and see how it is progressing lol! We went for Fuso as i love the short form factor of the truck, originally we were looking to convert an ambulance etc but by the time i looked into a 4x4...
Things are getting real with the expedition vehicle build. The habitat plans with Total Composites are finalised and approved for production! Next step is the subframe and passthrough design along with the rear recovery bumper ;o)Windows, doors and roof hatch also on order from the guys over at...
Looks to be a different box to the one we are working with - our habitat shell has no thermal transfer on the inside so we should be all good with the clean alu edges etc...
Ya we are looking at this for the framing of the raised bed and cabinet/dinette, the extrusion i have is very lightweight and the idea came from a similar system that Gouse gear uses for their system builds.
i am the Fuso customer lol - you can follow along with the build here https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/fuso-fg-4x4-custom-expedition-vehicle-build.197532/
No worries you can purchase the book from here https://www.selfbuildmotorhome.com, you also have the option of getting some downloadable layout tools ;o) It takes a while to come as the book ships from Europe but well worth the wait.
Wanted to share this post from this site as the book is now available in the English language and we purchased a copy - essentially what we are using as our guide to building our rig and I have to say the detail is awesome! I love the way he shares his mistakes and multiple ways to tackle each...
I agree with the post above, sadly the way North American campers are made is for tarmac use (fibreglass and wood sheds) and when they see a dirt road they start to self destruct! That said there may be some merit in acquiring this and stripping out the interior and appliances to use in your own...
Just flew back from Arizona and visited https://www.ternoverland.com/ these are the guys supplying our windows, entry door, cargo hatches and roof hatch. Very well engineered products and i highly recommend them. Had a great demo of all of their products and can't wait to see them in the rig...
For sure Darwin, things will be fairly quiet on this thread until the end of November as that is when we fly back out to BC from Ontario to pick up our expedition vehicle, up until that point it is being built but they are going to send pics of the process i will be able to add here.
Will be a...
