    Under cab insulation

I added a piece of this SuperWool Plus product on the bare metal cab floor above the radiator and fan. I'm chasing the fan noise mostly, I suspect it will help with heat also. It did make a noticeable difference in the sound reduction from the fan on my trial run. Lynn Manufacturing is the...

Building a 2017 FG for medium to light mountain driving. Aluminum and composite body w/ steel rear structure.

Really nice work! Keep the pics coming. A custom cab paint color I assume? Any coating on the aluminum to protect from road salts and chlorides? How does the cab tilt for you with the extra seat weight? It looks like you have a 12' overhead door or taller, I tried my best to stay under 10'...

On the fence about my Fuso

I have some samples coming from this company to consider http://www.lynnmfg.com/appliance/ for under the cab. There is a very thin piece under part of the cab now. Even if it covered more area up near the fan I think it would help. The product I'm looking at is 2600F rated, not sure how it...

On the fence about my Fuso

I used the products recommended on the Noico website, followed their installation videos. I feel and "hear" that it does what they say :) My wife has the better "ear" and she noticed a big difference. I feel I got what paid for.

On the fence about my Fuso

Yeah, I understand the trade-off with larger OD tires. My top end is manageable, 65 mph, 3000 rpm is fine for me, the wind factor when pushing the equivalent of two sheets of plywood down the road stacks against you at higher and higher speeds. It's the hill climbing speed I'd like to...

On the fence about my Fuso

Thanks for the feedback, Howard. I have covered most every inch of sheetmetal in the cab with 1 or 2 layers of soundproofing, even inside the doors with spray type. Waiting on a larger, high temperature mat for under the cab over the engine. The fan noise, which runs almost continuously in...

On the fence about my Fuso

Just back from my 3rd trip, pulled a 20' THOW 700 miles across Missouri and Tennessee this week. I have a list of pluses and minuses after 4000 miles in this truck. Nice to have 15' of bed, great GVW, tall driving position, great mileage, excellent 4wd performance, gets a lots of stares, a...

Change low pressure fuel pump 2017 Fuso FG

yes, two 14 mm bolts pinch the pump inside the tube, it should slid out when loosened. Need a 7 mm box, socket or nut driver to remove the wires from terminals. A 14 mm would remove the entire assembly from the frame, if need, Nut and bolt , so two wrenches needed. Looks like it could mount...

Change low pressure fuel pump 2017 Fuso FG

12mm to remove cover, ring terminals for electrical. Not sure what the quick connectors are called, I suppose you could unscrew the adapter behind them?

The fastest my Fuso has traveled, so far

my sphincter muscles start to tighten up right around 70 mph, 65- 67 seems to be about a comfortable speed for me and the "machine". We have some 80 mph limit roads around the US, so drivers tend to travel 88, even the big rigs travel 70 plus these days.

The fastest my Fuso has traveled, so far

I glanced over at the speedometer once to see it north of 80 mph! The wrecker is a 1981 Pete, smooth and powerful. Engine brake replacement an a few recall updates at 2500 miles on the Fuso.

    Mirror mod

My second attempt at moving the mirrors to a below the eye level position. I like being able to see over the mirrors at intersections, and when pulling into traffic. My first mount did not allow enough up- down tilt. 3/4 copper fittings fit over the factory steel tube with a little stretch. I...

Loud radiator fan on 2017 Fuso

I have to say... I have never noticed any fan noise in my FG84. Maybe it's just me, or the newer models, with the smaller 3.0L motor, perform very differently than the tractor motor in my truck. This truck runs much higher rpm then any of my previous diesels, 3000rpm at 65. My Ford and Dodge...
