Some of the plate bumper companies are doing aluminum now which results in about half the weight. I think most of them weigh 50ish pounds which should be fine on stock suspension.
Here in CO, a clean one-owner tacoma is like gold. Buy it and drive it for a few years and you can probably sell it for what you paid. Is it an xtracab? Probably worth $5000+ regular cab and $7,000+ xtracab.
I have a 2002 Tundra AC and I love the suicide doors. They are more convenient than regular doors because you don't have to walk around the door to open it up to get something out. You have access to the front and back seat which is great.
I previously owned a 92 xtracab pickup and then a 99...
Have you looked at Old Man Emu? I have a friend with them on his 03 Tundra and it handles great. Better than my truck which is nearly identical with the same tires, but mine has 5100s. There are a few places that sell a kit for the 1st Gen Tundra - it consists of the following for the front:

Your truck looks great. Good call on getting the bumper powder coated, I tried the rattle can route on the bumper I built and it has not held up. I need to have it blasted and powder coated one of these days.
I just put 285/75r16 Duratracs (load E) on my truck and I'm curious what you are...
I will have to drive an 05-06 one of these days. I am more curious about the gas mileage but it sounds to be about the same. I have an 02 and I have driven an 03 a fair amount as well. I think the drive by wire throttle cable they switched to in 03 makes the truck feel more lively so that could...
So the 885s on the bottom notch of the 5100 would give you about a 2" lift then right? That is if the coils are 2" longer than stock and the spring rate is similar to the stock ones. That sounds like the ticket to me because you are not compressing the spring to gain lift.
Also, if you are not...
The pics with the camper are from last fall, I hit a deer last summer and toasted the stock front bumper :( That is what made me decide to build a custom bumper. I have an old 79 Toyota that I have been practicing my fabrication and wrenching skills on for the past couple years and felt...
Your frame is looking great! Keep plugging away at it because when you finally get to use your camper it will be worth all the work! Having the extra room and storage from doing the flatbed will be awesome.
Aluminum
I tried to find fiberglass siding for my camper but couldn't find anyplace close that would sell it for a decent price(shipping is expensive on a 4x8 sheet). In the end I found a really good price on aluminum from a steel supply yard that is pretty close (I think most steel yards also...
I used 3/4" CDX for my new floor pack with gorrilla glue, biscuit joints and staples. Biscuit joints are a great way to make a really solid joint in plywood and they are fast once you figure them out. However, you do need a biscuit jointer though(and I'd recommend #20 biscuits).
I painted the...
Your project looks great, the extra room you gain by making the camper fit the flatbed will be worth it. I'm close to finishing up a complete teardown and rebuild of an 87 Fleet. I took it all the way down to the frame as well and I'm close to having a brand new camper. I'm surprised to see your...
