Full size trucks on jeep trails advice

All those HARD rated Jeep only trails in Moab I've done. Out west there are a lot of Jeep trails that Fullsizes can do just fine and dandy. Jeep trail seems to really just be a non-descriptor for a lot of roads that are bigger than two track but difficult for your average passenger vehicle...

    BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build

With the AEV Ram Air intake, I saw nothing. I have noticed maybe a bit more OMPH when you stomp on it, kind of like how you get with a CAI. But, I saw no gains and no losses. My biggest suprise was ZERO noise. It's almost like I put a sticker on the truck. --- In other news, we've been pulling...

Dude, if you are thinking about the drag coefficient of a snorkel, you are seriously over thinking things. :p

Did a little wheeling in the snow to test out the Toyo 37 MT's also did a recovery while I was out there. Also, don't have a photo, but recently installed 1 inch rear spacers to get some rake back.

    BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build

It was made by Kinzer Off-Road, I left a review of my experince in the build thread here. I had to have it fixed and modified. But in the end, I'm happy.

Yes, it's Thuren's King Stablizer, I just had the factory unit before hand. I had to remove the King Stablizer, it pushes too hard to the right, and the Toyo's already pull to the right. The King stablizer made it 100x worse. Nope, just so we can go camping away from the Airstream, more...

Moab Testing I frequent Moab quite a bit. So all this stuff needed some durability testing. And I can't think of a better place to test things, than a weekend trip to Moab. This past Labor Day, I took the family down to Moab to test all our new modifications. We were just there in May, so...

Final Touches Painting Since we modified the front bumper all the paint got removed. I considered for a good while powder coating the front bumper. But I scratched the hell out of it in Moab. So I decided the painting the bumper with a high-quality automotive paint might be a better idea. I...

Electric Upgrades & Communications So, you could spend like 500 something dollars for an S-Pod thingy because you can't wire, or you could spend $65 dollars and learn to do some basic wiring. Those S-Pods do not have $500's worth of electronics in them. Sorry, it's relays and switches. There is...

Dethloff MFG Custom Build Stuff So, my pal Marcus started up a fabrication business and I was to be his first customer. The plan, build me a custom Oil & Transmission skid plate, a custom Rooftop Tent Rack and if time permitted, build a custom rear high clearance bumper. With the long term plan...

Tire Upgrade After installing the Thuren 1.5 inch Hemi coil up front, I went ahead and installed Toyo Open Country M/T's in 37x12.50R17 I love these tires. They fit the truck so well. And I'm going to be honest here, when wheeling in Moab, I feel like the 37's are a bigger difference...

    BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build

I've done a lot of upgrades in the past few months, but have been behind with my build thread. But here are some highlights. Modified Front Bumper I had some problems with my bumper the way it was. Had a good friend rework all the welds, and weld the back side which originally was not welded...

    Mounting your remote display

Perfect, I just mounted my unit in the back of my truck earlier. And have the head floating in the center console. I was thinking of using a Ram Mount since I already have one for my iPad.

Pic Request.... Show me your fullsize quad cab going through the squeeze...

Ugh, there are very valid well thought out engineering reasons why a diesel Power Wagon would be a turd. I'm not going to reiterate them all here. But diesels aren't all they're cracked up to be and wouldn't really make a better offroader. If anything it'd make it worse for a number of reasons.

That is not a Leitner rack. It's custom. I have minor rub on the sway bar full lock. I now have Thuren front coils which level the truck. But lots of guys install 37's straight up. And I had them on before the level. It is not necessary. If I had the stock bumper I'd probably also have some...
