    This truck is unbelievable good

Wow. your attitude is why LR got wiped out by the competition years ago. no innovation, just keep churning out the same old crap regardless of what the completion are doing. A few years ago I was at a farmers show, the biggest in Scotland. A farmer looked at a 90 hardtop, Betty basics like you...

    This truck is unbelievable good

Onemanarmy. You do of course realise that many of the safety aids are legal requirements now. And some of the complaints are bits that are a nod to the classic Defender… which you then listed as being everything you wanted. The reality is, the markets and legislation have changed since the 90...

    This truck is unbelievable good

The D5 looks better in darker colours. Purely as it hides a lot of the awful styling of it. I really like the interior of it but the exterior is a mess and it’s the first modern LR that I don’t like. There are many owners in my landy club with both modern and older models. They need driven in...

A discussion about Rover pricing....are values really gone this high?

Yes values are in the up for many models. The market for classic range rovers has exploded, a guy in my club runs a restoration business. He’s been sorting the mechanical and bodywork of a Suffix B 2 door. He’s £42,000 so far for the bill and there’d another £10k for interior. But the vendor...

Missed out on an LR3, now I have the bug. LR3 vs. LR4

What he described bar the heated steering wheel was a typical HSE spec D3. A D4 is a D3 with most of the faults ironed out and a few new ones added for good measure. I have zero experience of the V8 engines as they only sold for 2 years in the D3 before being dropped in 2006 and the V8 D4...

2020 Defender 110 Eiger Grey overland build

Good to see it’s being used as intended. from my drive of a D240 SE last August in-between lockdowns, I found the boot size to be my only real complaint of the car. It’s larger than my Freelander 2s which has a shockingly small boot, but isn’t as massive as the D3s. Are you going to get any...

    Replacement air coil?

I would and did both sides at the same time. keeps both side equal and of same age/wear etc. I personally would change coil springs etc in pairs for the same reason.

I believe it’s a faulty battery charger that was to blame. most cars are hooked up to one to keep them happy as they have lights etc on at the dealer and people coming in to see them.

    New Defender News

I did. Half a million is an impressive figure which I will not deny. From a personal view, I would have loved to see how far the original engine could go. Given it was on an impressive service schedule with a trusted main dealer. so it would have genuine filters, correct oils, and other...

    New Defender News

Well there wasn’t anything wrong with the engine as far as I remember. The replacement one, if I remember had a fault and was replaced with another one. I didn’t understand the need to replace a perfectly working engine but it’s not my car. my own tdv6 is sitting at a mere 203,924 miles so...

    New Defender News

Yeah but he did change the engine in the 500,000 mile bracket. And change that one due to a fault. Its an ex highway agency car, so it racked up 180,000 miles or so before being sold off. It now tows a trailer and ships cars up/down the U.K. Full main dealer history as well I believe as they...

Truthfully mate, if I didn’t find it handy for keeping in touch with friends. I would bin it in a heartbeat. Although, it does earn a stay for getting those hard to find 80” parts.

Does LR4 seats fit and work in an LR3?

Retrim your current one at a trimmers? I had my HSE seat repaired on the side where they always split, along with a new heated element and foam base. £80 for trimmers to repair seat. £37 for genuine foam base. £80 for new genuine heated element.

Mot is an annual check of the car when it’s 3 years old. VED, ( vehicle excise duty ) is based on co2 figures. it’s broken into bands, the higher polluting the car, the more it’s taxed. My old tdv6 D3 was £330 a year, but others with exactly the same engine were £550. My Freelander 2 is £265 a...

    New Defender News

68,000 orders. 50 international awards. This V8 model has a drift mode, the AJ engine with the right exhaust has a properly lovely noise to it. When you have V8s everywhere it may not stand out but over here with the majority of cars having 4 pot diesels or 3 pot petrols, a v8 stands out.
