Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

Yeah a scan gauge is high, maybe first, on the list. What Bilsteins are people running? My plan is to replace the suspension on all 4 corners. Going to have to read up a bit but I'm hoping to gain an inch or so to make room for the 265/75/16 tires that will be going on. On that topic, what...

Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

Yes, rather fortunate timing indeed. If that ad goes up on a Wednesday there is no way I can get there next day to check it out and it's gone. A boat it is! And those are the flattering angles. From behind it has quite the bubble but. A little junk in the trunk if you will. Not the best...

Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

Thanks for all the feedback. I actually have been checking daily (or at least weekly) for the last year and a bit. It was the extremely low mileage at a fairly competitive price that woo'd me. Anyway, we were about to pull the trigger on Thursday night but the guy wanted to show it to...

Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

Yeah sorry for the confusion. I was in a bit of a rush when I posted the original questions. Here is the exact van in question: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-rv-motorhome/calgary/2004-ford-econoline-e-camper-van-send-phone-number/1278248420?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true Yes, you are correct in...

Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

According to the door sticker it's axle code 22. Which google leads me to believe it has 4.10 gears. That should help the power. How about cruise control? Has anyone ever added cruise control to one of these vans?

Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

According to the VIN it is in fact a 4.6L. Again that's not that exact van just a similar one. As for body damage Carproof also shows some hail damage which I could see. Without a garage it's just a matter of when not if it gets hit by hail anyway around here. Haha. When people say total...

Albert - Class B Grampa Van Build

Build thread update: Meet Albert, A raised roof Class B van I don't normally name things but we bought this van off a nice old man named Albert and it just fit. Albert will be replacing our old Combi Camp. The Combi Camp was great. Easy to tow, 480lbs, easy to set up, very spacious inside...

    Quadvan High Top Build

:Wow1: Love it! I think I saw in another post that it's the 5.4L? You mentioned the Fiberine top added a 1-2mpg hit - what kind of highway mileage are you getting? How far can you go on a tank? How much lift and what size tires are you running? Also, do you happen to know how tall it is...

Which engine do you have in your Ford van?

Does anyone with the 5.4 have a hard shell top like the Fiberine Super Camper? I would never need to tow but I'm curious if the added wind resistance of a hard shell top is asking too much of the 5.4 at highway speeds.
