The Toyota Land Cruiser Is Coming Back To America

I was in the middle of trading my ’19 Tundra Platinum in on a new TRD Offroad 4Runner, but I put my name down on a 1958 in Trail Dust instead. I can survive another winter in the Tundy if it means a Land Cruiser instead of a 4Runner. I also predict a SLOW fill of orders, but hopefully Toyota...

    Cooper STT Pro’s 315/70/17 - Less than 200 miles

Hi. Any chance you could throw a measuring tape on one of these and give the actual height and tread width? I’ve looked on Coopers website, but I don’t trust their published numbers. My 35” Toyos are only 33.5” tall…

    winch - yeah or nah?

I’d consider a multi mount. Get a front receiver and keep the winch out of the weather when not needed, and use it front or rear.

2009 tundra - scheel mann conversion

What? Who’s apathetic? :ROFLMAO: I like the second part I quoted since I’m about to change out my piece of mangled plastic for some mammal murdering cold hard steel! And why is it that the seats in my 2019 Platinum are WAY worse than those in my 2003 SR5??

2020 tundra, sumo springs vs airbags for FWC

This is why airbags are great. If you are expecting much off camber (not a good idea with a camper) get the cradles.

2020 tundra, sumo springs vs airbags for FWC

That’s exactly why I suggested the Firestone and Daystar option. If you’re hauling heavy, you likely don’t often need maximum articulation at that time. I believe you can get Sumos or Timbrens in a two stage type that might mitigate the bounce that mine have when in the “un-sweet spot”.

2020 tundra, sumo springs vs airbags for FWC

If you are running with a heavy load 24/7, then non-active support like Sumos or Timbrens or a custom leaf pack are perfect. It’s when you haul a heavy load for a day or week, and then go a month before hauling weight again that those options suck. Running around in an empty truck, the Sumos...

    2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 Build

I use my truck as my hunting and fishing vehicle too. White is a great choice for eliminating bush scratches…

    2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 Build

Any updates with your truck? I bought the Fuel wheels with 35” Toyos on them, but the seller was a lying jerk. He said he had no rub and that they only put the tires 1/2” or so outside the fenders on his Tundra. On mine (same amount of lift) the rub is heinous and they poke over 1”, closing...

First Gen Tundra -- in need of paint; San Diego recommendations ?

Is this really a question?? You live in Sandy Eggo! Just drive across the border to TJ and get a great paint job for pesos on the dollar! I’m half kidding, but at the same time, we’ve had a couple of trucks painted down in Mexico, and they have been great. 80% of the cost of the job is...

2014+ Tundra full coverage front bumpers?

I’ll have a look. I didn’t know Dobinson did bumpers. Edit: The Dobinson looks almost identical to the ARB, but after shipping is actually $100 more than the ARB. I guess it will come down to availability if I go that route.

2014+ Tundra full coverage front bumpers?

Got my dealer to do a quote on the bumper parts I will need so I can start prepping the insurance company for a rep bumper. Before labor and paint, I’m at $3001.59 so I figure it’s got to be $4,000 all done. ARB is $2,300 from some sources, so I’m optimistic.

Anyone an expert (or close) on the VF3AM T-case in Sequoia or 4Runner?

I found a service manager at a new dealer today, who has wrenched on these trucks. He was kind enough to do a bunch of research and emailed me a bunch of pages of the tech manual for my truck. I’ll revisit shifting procedures tomorrow and go through the 10 pages of troubleshooting. Hopefully...

Anyone an expert (or close) on the VF3AM T-case in Sequoia or 4Runner?

So circling back to this… I managed to get the Sequoia into my shop today and got it up in the air. Tried shifting with it up and no pressure on driveline, but no joy. Same as when on the ground. I did check all the external electrical connections and they are fine, but I noticed that all...

Anyone an expert (or close) on the VF3AM T-case in Sequoia or 4Runner?

Now I’m thoroughly confused. I‘ll re-read your posts and the ones you linked when the time comes. I can’t get into my shop right now without 4x4, so it’s a Catch 22 until the weather here stabilizes. I will for sure report back when I get it sorted out. The switch contacts are...

    Falken Tires

I’m going to be the dissenting voice here I guess. I’ve heard people rave about these Falken AT tires for years now, and I have a brand new set of 4 on my Sequoia (Well, they have about 6,000 miles on them). I really don’t like them in snow. In fact, in 2 wheel drive, I can barely get them to...

2014+ Tundra full coverage front bumpers?

No, they are definitely not the same. ARB is still, and always has been my preference, but I’m looking to see what other options there are.

2014+ Tundra full coverage front bumpers?

If you can weld, they are great value too. As much as I want an ARB, I’m betting it will prove difficult to get one.

The link is for the base bumper, but with the tubing, they estimate another 20 lbs. https://www.coastaloffroad.com/product-page/3rd-gen-tundra-high-clearance-front-bumper-kit/

2014+ Tundra full coverage front bumpers?

The ARB is +/- 240 lbs, which while a fair bit of weight, is basically like having a big dude sitting on the front. My suspension does not move at all when I stand on the front of the truck, and I’m only 40 lbs less. I would try it as is and see how I like it. Some of the other options I’m...
