    2020 Ford Ranger questions

We enjoy ours, with some caveats. Primary upsides: - Great drivetrain - Excellent payload (even in Tremor spec). - Pretty great available tech (adaptive cruise, lane keep, auto wipers/high beams, sound system, headlights, etc) If you're not a fan of the tech, scratch this. - Perfect size for...

    Correct as usual.

I agree with his points on price, and off road accessories, mostly. Everything else felt a bit "old man yells at cloud". There are a couple obvious reasons from a business perspective for some of the things he thinks are ridiculous, which zimm covered. Now, as a consumer, do I like those...

Grenadier Questions and Answers? Post'em Up

So true. Its unfortunate. ASPW can sometimes be equal parts codger and bag of air, but at least I know I'm not getting any fluff or Bunk.

My set up is a little "old school" in the overland sphere these days, but I love it. Had never done an RTT before, so I didn't want to start with something that would break the bank. My partner and I love it so far compared to our previous ground tent.

    Well, poor Bronco...

I know of this bridge. It is a very narrow ATV bridge. It will hold full size vehicles, but you're going to have half a tire on the bridge on either side. The width of those 35s would have helped here, but the overall track width would have been a negative for sure.

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

I see what you're doing here by relating price to purchasing power ALA Big Macs, but is that the best comparison to be making? What about the proportion of wage represented by cost, for example? In the USA, the F150 price I quoted earlier represents 0.84 years of wages at median. In Canada it...

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

I can get behind the sentiment here, but if the limited volume of the NA classic Defender is any indication, the prices will only move in the opposite direction. Seems to often be the case for limited run enthusiast vehicles.

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

Busting in a bit late on this one, but median income in the USA and Canada are not almost identical. The median income in the USA is significantly higher than in Canada. The most recent numbers I can find are USA median income $93,547 CAD, and Canada median income $67,521 CAD...

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

Automotive pricing in Canada isn't a straight USD to CAD conversion. As an example, an F150 Lariat is $57k USD, and is $65k CAD. At dollar conversion, it would be $77k CAD. That's more typical of the pricing variance we get here.

    Grenadier Pricing Announced

Also Canadian, and I have to agree. The Ineos pricing here is absolutely ridiculous, and is not competitive with the market in any way. Land Rover Defender 110 S - $79k Ford F350 Tremor XLT - $83k Silverado 1500 ZR2 - $91k Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe - $79k Jeep Wagoneer - $88k...

Why don't we see more Ford Ranger builds

Recently replaced my Wrangler with a Ranger, and I think the main reason we don’t see many has already been mentioned: the dealers have offered massive incentives on f-150s to the point where no one in their right mind would buy a ranger. That is, until Covid hit. The trade in on my 9.5 year...
