7.3 Godzilla F550 MPG/Range with large TC and SRW conversion

The Buckstop super single conversion includes everything, even the bumper. It is clearly spelled out on their website. They actually have a very easy to use configurator that spells out final cost, including labor. Pretty slick! I’m not sure what you’re getting at about “campers not cab...

F450 Custom Composite Expedition Truck - ALL THE DETAILS

Agreed - the deck height is dictated by the size of your tires and your suspension up-travel, plus the need to clear various suspension bits, etc. You also have to accommodate the height of the truck cab and either add spacers under the box or raise the deck height such that the cabover will...

7.3 Godzilla F550 MPG/Range with large TC and SRW conversion

In order to know how much you’re going to weigh, you need to know how you’re going to use it - full 4 season, how many people overnight, level of independence on a trip, what kind of stuff do you do and what gear do you need, etc. Most 2+ person, year round setups seem to weigh ~12,000 at a...

7.3 Godzilla F550 MPG/Range with large TC and SRW conversion

We have a ’24 F350 with the 7.3 - not exactly the same spec as the F550 but similar. We weigh about 11,500lbs and get ~8.5mpg. More weight and bigger tires = lower fuel economy.

    Awildtuan's 2000 F350 7.3 Powerstroke - Home/Expedition build

Great truck! I 100% agree w/ @DirtWhiskey’s recommendations. I have a 2000 7.3 w/ most of the mods you’ve done. The Hydra, a KC 300x, tunes (I’ve had the best experience with Brian Jelich of Jelibuilt), and updated injectors (Rosewood) will make it amazingly fast with minimal smoke. Makes...

I had called ahead to US CBP and asked some questions and they (at the time) didn’t require anything apart from an invoice and the “VIN.” Pronghorn assigned me the #8 on the invoice but that was all CBP needed. Who knows now what it would be like to cross now that the border is weaponized.

So that is exactly what I did. There was no problem for me, no questions asked.

This is exactly what I did. Saved me the first tariff imposed by Trump 1.0 and allowed me to take advantage of the favorable exchange rate. However, my understanding is that buying from Canadian builders as a US buyer may avoid tariffs on Chinese products but not Canadian ones anymore.

    Outpost Truck Campers

Are they selling both Total Composites and Lemker products? Their new model doesn’t look like a TC and the ad suggests the new panels are made in TX.

Ford F350 Superduty - Where to tap electrical system for 100 Amp DC-DC charger load?

Most AC chargers output 30A, like this Victron. The solution described would indeed work but seems clunky. Victron’s AC compatible charger that would output 50A (equal to one Orion XS in question the OP was asking about) costs about $150 more than the Orion. Accessing the outlets for the Ford...

2024 RAM CCLB flatbed + Overland Adventure Truck composite shell build thread

Camper and kitchen look great. Don’t use wood for framing inside - many of us have had a lot of success with 80/20 to build out the interiors. Super easy to work with, saves weight, easy to take apart again for servicing.

Ford F350 Superduty - Where to tap electrical system for 100 Amp DC-DC charger load?

I don’t watch it continuously, but it should be a consistent 50a just based on its charge profile. The times I have been watching it has been ~48-50A consistently. The voltage can fluctuate, but the whole purpose of the device is to deliver constant amperage with varying input voltage. In case...

Ford F350 Superduty - Where to tap electrical system for 100 Amp DC-DC charger load?

I have the same truck and installed a Victron Orion XS. The easiest and cleanest install IMHO is to use these terminal blocks and ferrules: https://www.knukonceptz.com/product/ultimate-automotive-car-battery-terminal-v2-postive-negative/. Do not drill into the terminal. You don’t necessarily...

2024 RAM CCLB flatbed + Overland Adventure Truck composite shell build thread

Nice looking setup. Regarding battery capacity, it depends on an energy audit. Based on the anticipated presence of clouds for a week, I assume that you’re talking about being in one spot in the winter. All of the stuff (apart from Starlink) you described won’t use a ton of power overall. Your...

Newby question - Lift on 2021F-250

I think that this needs some clarification. Putting 350 blocks on a 250 will provide a lift and probably even things out visually. It will not make the 250’s suspension the same as the 350. The 350 has overload springs and that is what provides the primary payload capacity increase. Lift...

USA Import from China or Australia?

For ~$1400USD shipped, you could find a local fab shop that would be able to make it. It might be slightly more, but then you’d also be able to dial it in just right and support a local business in the process. Alternatively, if you’ve made your own flatbed, maybe this is the next project to...

    F350 Tremor/ Supertramp “TRAMPER’s” build thread.

You are probably not as vain as I am, but 37s look better. They also have more sidewall and better roll-over off-road, both of which improve the ride. With 4.30s, I feel like it is close to stock; with 4.88s, it might be a little short for 75mph+ but would be better off-road. I’d still leave...

    F350 Tremor/ Supertramp “TRAMPER’s” build thread.

I don’t have a Supertramp but I do have a ‘24 350 with the 7.3, 4.3s, and 37s carrying a large hardside camper. It drives fine in the mountain west. I would wait until your setup is built and see if you like it. Then you could consider going to the trouble of regearing.
