Oh I'm not saying it's not, I'm just really wanting to see it perform stock, with a competent driver!

I guess the day we see a no-rod-lift D2 hit the trial is the day I buy one. :( whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :(

    New Land Rover...... Phone

While I agree that this is ridiculous and silly, I will point out that saying 'well Land rover doesn't make phones' is equivalent to saying Apple doesn't make phones either. It's done by Foxconn.

    New Defender News

Interesting. I had this happen in my Xterra and it's why I wired in a switchable ABS OFF feature. I was in Rausch Creek Off road park in PA and I lightly put my foot on the brake and I just slid slid slid with the ABS pulsing down the road. I was on very slippery ice which would be the same as...

    New Defender News

Really annoyed that I gotta point this out but this particular truck also has lift rods (I messaged the guy on IG to verify) and that plus no rear locker is def not fun. Agreed that the wheel spin threshold seems high, still wanna see one with a rear locker actually working!

An introduction to my new LR3

I came from an '06 xterra Off-Road with a 2" lift and 33" tires. The LR3 is just as capable while having infinitely better road manners, way more interior space, and 10000000000000000x better lighting. Reliability is excellent. Whoa: You're local. Cmon over, I'll show you the hype.

I asked him about height, not TC mode :)

    New Defender News

My experience has been that the TC system is super robust and easy to use. I just slowly apply throttle, if the rear slips the locker kicks on, if the front slips the TC kicks in and it walks right over with no fuss. It's a bit frustrating that so far all the videos we've seen have been folks...

This is hard to believe. Not calling you a liar just based on my experience the rear locker kicks on very quickly in these situations.

    LR4 Factory Locker Swap

Wow. I admire this post but also am now endlessly grateful that my truck has the factory locker.

New Hood Ornament and a trip to the river.

When is the last time you adjusted your e-brake? I haven't done mine in a bit and I think I'm due.

Is the D2 on lift rods? Hard to tell but looks way extended... I'm also surprised and even more so that those tires are allegedly down at 2 bar, barely see any flex at all.

    JLR Restructuring / Reorg

Yep. I knew that the moment I saw who started it.

How hard was it to source one with the diff? I got SUPER lucky with my LR3 and the first one I looked at had one (owner had never even left pavement with it). Haven't seen one for sale since.

    Driving Light wiring to Headlights?

Don't trust the color, just see which one is the +12 with a multimeter! :) Good luck with the deer. Driving through idaho in the dark last year was scary.

    Driving Light wiring to Headlights?

Should be no problem. The relay doesn't pull amperage. I had a similar setup on my Xterra (tapped into high beam, with a master on/off). Would recommend using the high beam bulb instead of the HID shutter mechanism as that is just going to be a much smaller and less robust wire. Remember, the...

Recommended Rover shop in San Diego??

You know it's just 10x 13mm hex bolts to pull the skid plate right? No jack needed either, just put it in off-road height. 13mm for the drain plug also. Might save you some time and $ :) If the drain plug is tight check the oil filter as well.
