the supervisors making sure i do a good job on the last cabinet for this build, or they are wondering when we are finally going on the road!?!?!
between the 2 builds i had going on i feel like ive been building cabinets for months (which i have). gonna de-dust my shop and put all those tools...
Back to making dust for the sprinter finally, cabinet face/doors for the cabinets already built. Got my foam pulled out as well as a the roll of fabric ive been saving for quite some time for this project. final dust making stages and sewing (plus huge list of final details)--the end game
I do generally not really like overhead cabinets because of the added weight up high, the worst location for it. BUT, i had planned on doing an overhead in the transit and just simply ran out of steam and time on that build. The buyer didnt really need it so thats how it got left. The sprinter...
I was able to sucker someone into trusting a student in an upholstery class....and i can see my upholstery life has been cursed with armrest--ha
This van came from Japan with curtain tracks already installed, with some not so pretty curtains. We made new curtains incorporating the tracks and...
Not to derail my build thread but people have asked to see pics of the Delica project. Also means its done and this thread/project can get back on track (even though i have odd job request that have been waiting, like today im welding on a trailer). Here is a small sample but if you want to see...
should also note that pricing between the 2 is getting closer all the time. Used to be a huge price savings by going transit, still is but gap is much much smaller
some recent thoughts on this Transit vs Sprinter subject. Im still building out my Sprinter, 99% done. i know i know, but during that time ive done a complete build on a Delica (also 95 % done right now) 2 trailer to camper conversions, and a few other vans here and there for small work. I have...
Not only was today eclipse day, it was also snow tire removal day (had 3 cars to do). Which meant the sprinter needed to go outside and the first time she has been outside since i put the snow tires on last fall, think October. been moved from shop to shop a few times but its only 17 feet of...
i didnt actually weigh it, but me and wife 1.0 who has been having major mobility and strength issues in her shoulder moved it no problem. BUT, i know whats in it and square inch wise it is about 1 full 4x8 sheet of 1/2" Baltic/russian birch (i have preplanned cut sheets i made on the 'puter)...
One weekend at a time.....feels like a Johnny Cash song....
slowly moving along still, finally got the cabinet together that i have been working on for several weekends now. probably the longest cabinet ive ever made at 93"-ha.
counter tops next then ill actually be functional (bed design rest...
the Truma Combis are very very popular over in Europe, and just starting to catch on here and some of the high end units like overland explorer ect. even the new EKKO is using them. 100% reliable from what i have seen, never see post about weird errors or any of that stuff. last one i installed...
Haven't had much time to dedicate to the Sprinter lately but big hurdle taken care of was getting the Truma Combi system installed (99% anyway). I love the Truma Combi's, air heater and water heater all in one efficient package. I know I know, not a diesel heater--ha. I have love/hate...
i actually do get why they used a RAM Promaster as it is the Fiat Ducato in Europe, one platform fills 2 markets. The North America market Transit is NA market only, totally different than the EU. Not 100% sure on the sprinter but i think differences as well
I'll be slowing down on the Sprinter build now since the Delica is back for its final/full build out that will get most of my attention. Pretty much just be weekends now vs 7 days a week. My goal was to have the Sprinter done BEFORE the Delica came back, but here i am.... actually might be nice...
continuing to make dust for cabinetry and its going well. But got my elevator bed fully installed now, well, 95%, need to finish pillar upholstery and how it interacts with the wiring but that is all details. Have plenty of hours involved in making this thing, our solution for maximizing space
dust making stage, I quite enjoy this cabinet making stage. 1, because i used to do a lot of wood working when i was young with my grandfather and my awesome shop classes. 2, because van is starting to come together
personal van / demo van. i made the mistake of selling my last van before i had one to replace it and took 2.5 years to do so with supply chain etc, never doing that again. everything can be for sale for the right price ive always said, but not as easy as it would seem in this day and age.
for temperature sensing? The BMS in the battery has its own temp sensor, one in each battery which i can see thru the bluetooth app (the 2 small Volthium boxes). since the batteries have built in dual heaters for this arctic tundra i live in (localish battery builder) and cant be charged under...
The electrical expert wrapping up another impeccable and organized system install using the Redarc Manager 30, she is really picky about her wiring. I'm a big fan of the Redarc, simple, small and just works
slightly behind on the video stuff since working on the van is actual priority. but here is what hundreds of hours condensed down to 2 minutes and 53 seconds looks like.
