If you truly need that much payload - I would look at a 450(0)/550(0)... You dont want to be at the very very max out of the gates... the ram 5500's seem to get a lot of love around here, and likely for good reason.
They make cheaper versions - but I wanted my two bulkhead fittings to match... so I had to choose a brand that had both styles I needed... search that type at digikey - you might get lucky...
Interesting - a swaybar like Thuren's may give you more clearance there. Unless you are putting weight up high (ie, above the bed rails), I doubt you will experience any downsides other than a more comfy ride.
I am surprised you are rubbing on the swaybar with a +19mm offset wheel and 37x13.5 tires... I am running 37x12.5's on my power wagon (2019), and no where close to the swaybar!
Do you have a picture of where you are rubbing?
@St8ton With the 1.5" front springs, and the rear 1" spacer - are you level without the airbags, or do you need them to be level? We have very similar set ups (decked drawers, RSI cap), and rear spring choices are driving me crazy.
Your right - but the amount of lockup can be adjusted on many lsds - my old track day car had a 2 way, you definently learn to be smooth on the throttle. I would still prefer any lsd to a full time locker on the street.
This is not true as a blanket statement - a 2 way lsd will apply power both on acceleration and deceleration. Your referring to a 1 way lsd, which only works on acceleration.
What gears do you have now? If you are already 4.10, a pw axle from a yard will be a quick swap. And for the poster above, I've never heard of a pw snapping an axle under anything like normal or even tough situations... they are pretty beefy.
I pulled the top of the cubby, and just pushed the wires down- crazy easy if you stay to the sides. I pulled the 12v outlet to give me a clean cable passthrough
