    Critical Spares List: Discovery I

Christian had a very valid point. Whenever someone asks me what vehicle I would recommend for a trans Africa or a RTW (and there are a lot surprisingly) I tell them Toyota Land Cruiser, hands down. Then, inevitably, I have to explain why I was willing to do it in a 110. :) But this thread is...

That is a totally inappropriate first post. You can not get away with saying hi but not posting a pic of your 110! Welcome. cheers

    . . . one is never enough.

Yeah, Mark has me. Not my truck, just a strange coincidence today. The transporter was delivering the mustang to my neighbor. Very strange to look out of the window and see that sight. But the thought did cross my mind . . . how much would the driver take? Thanks for humoring me everyone...

    . . . one is never enough.

Being the owner of a 110, I am often asked what my 'next' truck will be. Well, it's obvious, and today, after a lot of work I added the next truck to the fleet. Here she is, still on the transporter in front of our house, because . . . :coffeedrink: cheers

Free trip to Baja with Disabled Explorers & Overland Training

This is going to be a fun trip with a very cool educational and adventure component. Far from the regular tour, everyone will be able to plot their own route, see their own sights and then meet up for camp to share experiences and adventures. Lance's SMB is an exceptional machine and it will...

ok to come to a Rover rally in a Toyota?

I can't speak for the Southeast, but at the National Rally we regularly have to 'put up' with people bringing non-Land Rovers along. As I recall Scott Brady once showed up in a Tacoma! :sombrero: Word of caution though: just because you don't show up with a Rover is no guarantee that you won't...

Food: one of the treasures of travel

Yeah, not everything in the souk was good eating; we tried a few deserts, and they were hardly edible. But the meat and couscous and especially the pastillas are phenomenal. cheers

    Critical Spares List: Discovery I

LR bearings can work loose especially on long long stretches of corrugations. If you catch it in time you just need to tighten. If not, then you are in for a hub rebuild and new bearings. For a 10 day trip to baja just check the wheels each evening. You know when the bearings were last packed...

Food: one of the treasures of travel

I've been going through a lot of pictures of our travels recently, and every now and again a group will jump out at me. So just because I love food and love to experience the local food when traveling, here is a sample of what we found in Morocco. The ubiquitous tagine, this one made with fish...
