I was only able to find one other image that looked similar online. They don’t appear to be casting marks but it could be sloppy work. I’ll check the yolk
I was under the the front today when I noticed these surface cracks all over. The oil level was full and none of the cracks are leaking. I did a search but couldn’t find an answer. Runs perfect and 4x4 engages fine but don’t want a grenade it if this is a warning.
I was having trouble seeing at night with the old lights and lenses. Thought this might interest some of you. I was able to get a full set of lenses on Amazon for $58. The LED bulbs were about $35. The difference is unbelievable. Wish I hadn’t waited so long.
Good call on the lights. I don’t think I’ll ever run anything but LED. My LED bulbs just came in yesterday. For another $58 I purchased new lens covers. Amazing how cheap this stuff is these days. It made a huge difference on the Harley look forward to seeing what it does on the burb.
I have the 97 2500 and mileage isn’t too bad. Post 96 are supposed to be better. I also have the G80 rear end with 410 and I get 11mpg with roof rack and 285s. I like the look of the square body but the HD drivetrain and reliability is what I need for overland. These go for no more than $3k in...
Quick question, I just found my heater control valve leaking again from a crack in the side of the valve. This is my 2nd one in 13k miles. The first was in the vehicle when I bought it so not sure how old it was and the replacement only lasted one trip. Now this one is out. Am I missing...
Very happy with the way ours turned out. I still have more to do but seems to be working out great so far. There is a build thread in the signature that is fairly complete. as for Nitro rat's comments, ditto on the heater hose and carrying and emergency block off. Did both of those and...
That’s a great set up. I too am thinking about that for my upgrade down the road. I will be interested to see how the half ton works out for you overtime. I just don’t think I need to three-quarter ton truck to go to places I want to go
My 2500 came stock with 245s. I had to do a lot of cutting as you can see in my build thread, to get 285s in there. The rear fit with no cutting. As for the back, my box was too short at 6’ but I made a simple extension that fooled back if I add the single seat. All works great. PM or chk my...
My work truck is a 2016 F250 with the 6.2 liter. I average 9 mpg consistently and down around 6.5 mpg with a 5k dump trailer. Also, I have 315s and its 4x4.
Not sure how everyone else gets such high numbers.
My 97 is all metric. My 65 and 58 Chevys are SAE so sometime between 65 and 97 they went metric. Harley’s are still SAE. The last holdout I’m aware of.

turns out it's not what we needed since we are on the move most of the time and I really don't want to try and position myself around an awning. I will make one for the back so we can still cook if it rains but that will be a very simple one.
Took a 5 day trip to the vintage races in Monterey. We got a great camp site from a friend and the burb worked out great. It was sure nice to have the fridge. I strongly recommend it for these overland and camping trips.
I am definitely a Corvette fan but who could resist taking a photo of...
Next I bought an Edgestar Fridge, 63 Quart. These things are GREAT! and at 1/2 the price of others, I am very impressed. To fit it on an uneven surface, I mounted furniture leg hardware to a board and cut some blocks to screw in, and bolts for the other side. It was a quick fix but sits...
