Skinny or wide tires; that is the question...

I've always had 33x12.5s or thereabouts. Just went with 255/80R17's recently, and really love them so far. They do seem better in the snow, which is about the only offroad I've had a chance to test yet.

    rtt and carrying stuff

I'm trying to figure out a way to carry two SUPs on top of a RTT (on a Bajarack) ... something like this is looking like the best option. Anyone else have something easier, or maybe something that wouldn't require permanent additions to my rack?

LED Light Bars; Post Up Pics

His post probably should've read: "The main reason I run Rigid's is because I get them for free (or at least cheaper than any of you) ... but *also* because they're solid lights."

    Panoramic Shots

Took a couple hours and started poking around the "Oregon Outback." This is Fort Rock. One photo, D750, 58/1.4

    Panoramic Shots

That's what I love about panoramic format photos - they have such a cinematic feel. Thanks! I haven't tried Costco for that, but that's a great price. All the Costco small prints I've done have turned out well in the past. I've gotten a few crazy aspect ratio prints made from ProDPI (who I...

    The Best Camera For Overlanding

IMO, grab one of the Yongnuo speedlights. They're every bit as good as the Canon speedlights, for a lot less money, especially if you don't need ETTL (even if you do, the Yongnuo's are great.) I have so many Canon and Nikon speedlights, and wish I'd discovered the Yongnuo's sooner. I'm picking...

attaching light bar on Baja Rack with deflector

Thanks for posting that! That's exactly what I want to do. I don't suppose you'd be able to post any other photos of how you mounted it?

attaching light bar on Baja Rack with deflector

I've been trying to figure out a solution to this. I have roughly the same rack (and vehicle) as Tacoma13SR5. I want to put the LED bar underneath the deflector. Problem is space is a bit tight there. But I'd like to maintain a more subtle look, and a bit more aerodynamic efficiency (not that...

    WTB: 4th Gen 4runner

Hmm. What's your price range? I've been toying with selling mine for a 100-series LC if I can get a decent price for my 4Runner. edit: mine's an '05 Sport, V6, 115k, Salsa Red Pearl - spacer lift, 265-70's Terra Grappler's with ~15k on them, grey leather, nav, tinted windows, etc. Nothing...

    4th Gen 4Runner tire size - 265/70 big enough?

I'm trying to plan out how I'll progress/finish my 4Runner's build, and am conflicted on tire size. I currently have 265/70R17 Terra Grapplers on the truck, with only 15,000 miles or less on them. I like them, they seem to work well in everything except deep/wet snow (they just turn into icy...

For Sale: 1982 Toyota LandCruiser FJ60

I'm trying, and failing, to find any reason why I shouldn't sell my 4th Gen 4Runner for this. This is my dream Cruiser, essentially!

Heavy Duty Bumpers for Expedition/Overland Use: Practical Necessity or Superfluous an

This is the real question, and the one I've never seen adequately answered. Not an issue, perhaps, with older vehicles, but on something newer with sophisticated SRS systems, how do these bumpers effect that? I know ARB touts theirs as airbag compliant, which I've read means that it simply...
