I have a really, really bad habit of just taking a bunch of metal and figuring it out as i go. The battery and wheel well compartment are no different. I have a couple sticks of 1"x1"x1/4" thick square aluminum 6061. I like the weight of aluminum but it is harder and more expensive to weld...
Pretttttty good amount of work done today.
No video from this day, mainly because it was just alot of cleaning, laying peel and stick floor, and tidying up loose ends so i can actually start building some more stuff tomorrow (mainly battery compartment and right hand wheel well cover and...

I’m actually spanning the back of the 1” tube with 3” flatstock so there is plenty of structure to hold it and it will actually be recessed about 1/4” from the edges so nothing pokes out. All aluminum will be getting a brushed finish as well

I am a huge fan of Blue Ridge Overland Gear (blueridgeoverlandgear.com)
I have had their Visor panels in almost every single vehicle i own. When it came to the sprinter, they just wouldn't work. They however, do have an NCV3 170" for hauling their wares around, so after a bit of a chat, they...
