    2015 Ford F150

It's funny but every article on this talks about the HUGE risk Ford is taking by going to aluminum. The only real risk I see is that grumpy old men set in their ways will be upset. Everything else is all positive. I was locking in on a new Ram 1500 but I just did an about face with this...

    2015 Ford F150

I saw one comment about 30 mpg highway for one of the engines. Makes diesel a tougher sell.

Just when is it "enough"? (2014 New Year's Resolution)

I'm done as well. Which means I'll probably only buy 2 this year.

Here is a taste of my next ride. I fractured my wrist in a crash last week so not in a rush to get it done.

    The Cherokee is back?

Bingo. This may be a worthy replacement for my Outback, and would be a nice complement to the LR3. Any rumors yet about these getting a diesel down the road? A Trailhawk getting 30s mpg would be incredible.

SHOW YOUR FAVORITE CATCH ON THE FLY

Caught my first fish on a fly rod this morning. Caught about 10 actually. All little bass in a stream I found with a friend this last weekend when I had the spinning gear out. I wanted a little practice before heading up to the Sierras for a long weekend. Uh, no pictures though.

What all do you pack on your Bicycle?

For normal before/after work MTB rides I take 1 bottle, 1 tube, 1 CO2 (all 3 on bike), 1 key to open the car door. I've grown to love the minimalist rides without a pack. For longer or more remote rides I'll add a pack with phone, more water, food, multi tool, and patches. Maybe some layers...

    Who's ready for winter?

where are you going? and what are you getting? Two of the last three season where a bust for me due to complications from eye surgery (gas bubble in eye, no altitude, no fun). Last year was low snow and spent helping son, wife, daughter mostly. This year I have my season pass to Kirkwood...

    MTN Bike set-up for Hunting

I've been thinking of using a fat tire bike, and pulling a BOB trailer. Or, figuring out a cool way to mount a gun/bow on it. The fat tires would have a big advantage if you have to go through snow.

Hindsight = 20/20...what did you wish you had left behind? What did you need?

Sinks In the 17 years I've owned my WV I used the sink once - the very first time I camped in it. It was only because I wanted to try everything out. Then I realized it drains right under the van and makes a mess right where I'm camping. Never used it again and never felt like I even wanted...

LR3 - why the bad rep?

I've had a 2008 since brand new. Breakdowns - 0 Repairs - 0 Recalls - 0 Oil spots in the driveway - 0 Maintenance costs - minimal From what I can tell there are only a few people on this forum that give the LR3 a bad rap. There are also a lot of people terrified of electronics, and given...

Top 10 Used Overland Vehicles: Do you agree?

I'd gladly take any of those on the list, along with some that aren't. It's also nice to see someone admit that the LR3 is a good vehicle. (Yes, Validation!!) People thought I was nuts when I sold our '96 D1 after buying an LR3. I bought the LR3 for my wife so I could fully take over the D1...
