Hey Scott, I've been out of the Expo loop awhile and just spent some time reviewing the thread. Outstanding stuff. Congrats to the whole team. Antarctica has always been a dream of mine, seeing you pull it off encourages me a great deal and only confirms that is has to stay on my list.
If you...
Wow... just wow. I've been pretty sporatic with my visits to Expo since moving to Abu Dhabi. I totally missed this build. I'm obviously a huge T100 fan... and this build is A+. Great job with your own modifications to a rig that doesn't have a lot of aftermarket support. This truck will NEVER...
Good to know on the vents in the rest/console. Also good to have some AZ anecdotal input. The only thing is that here it'll be 119 but also be freakin' humid, which reduces the efficiency of the AC quite a bit.
The particular 4Runner I was looking at got nabbed by someone else, but I'm still...
I'm looking for some anecdotal input on the air conditioning in a 2004 4Runner. I live in Abu Dhabi and the summers here are obviously hot but also mercilessly humid. Toyota builds their GCC spec 4x4's with a larger radiator core and larger AC compressor/condensor. There are actually quite a few...
Thanks for the pointers... I've ruled out all but the largest sized Maggiolina. And given how hard they are to come by here, I may be going a different route altogether.
So for all you Maggiolina owners, I've got a few questions.
1. Anyone got an interior dimension on a small? A medium? A large?
2. Anyone with a kiddo manager to sleep three to a tent?
3. My wife and I have a 1-year-old. Will he fit with us in any of these size tents? I know what the...
Update...
I think this thread needs an update.
Hoosier 45,
That is indeed a Rose-Hulman sticker. Graduated in '02.
p1michaud, kcowyo, and flyingwil,
Sliders are not done. I think you guys already noticed I moved to the UAE a few years back. The sliders are sitting in my buddies garage...
Just got through re-reading this. Man I love reading what you have to write. Wanted to give you some props so you knew I was soaking it up and not just nit-picking your broken picture links. =) You make me miss the US bro. I'll live it vicariously though ExPo until I return... in the...
3AM?!? It was 1:30PM my time... =)
Thanks for fixing this... much more enjoyable. Your "No Country for Cold Men" one is broken as well. Just keeping you honest.
Reading all of this makes me miss the States... a lot.
Hey KC, sorry to resurrect such an old thread. I have been going back through your FWC thread and reading all the cross-links you posted of other journeys. In any case, I noticed this thread's pics are all dead links (or is it just me). I know you typically like to keep on top of this...
Okay, time for some T100 lovin'

Once we are back in the states I need to show my wife the UP. Spent a month up there at a Christian leadership camp called Cedar Campus, near Cedarville. Fell in love with the UP.
Hey Jonathan, I'm not sure you are going to remember me. Your Tundra has changed a lot since we met. I'm the guy with the T100 you met at Big South Fork. Glad to see you here on Expo... I'm late to the game in greeting you though.
Thought you and some others might like to see some "way back"...
I removed the jack and tools from their original compartment and stow them in the drawer with my recovery gear. Yeah, it eats up some drawer space but it lets me have the top of the unit flush with the little ledge there.
Quite fun! A little daunting at first, but very fun! The little dip off to the right of that photo is actually a huge bowl/valley in the dune. You go into one of these things in a full size rig and you'll be a long time getting out.

The beauty and vastness of the Empty Quarter have to be seen to be believed. It's almost like you are on Mars.
