    HJZ79 in the U.S.?

camparing just about any vehicle to the F-series isn't a fair comparison. 21.6% were TDIs? That much revenue is significant for any business. Right or wrong, someone who recently bought one told me VW is sell everything they are able to import. I recently went to an event where VW was a...

    HJZ79 in the U.S.?

After reading this thread I'm beginning to question my U.S citizenship status. I've told that Americans: -only buy cars for looks -need to have the biggest -need t0 have the most powerful -don't want diesel -would never buy smaller when larger is available. -don't want to keep thier vehicles...

    Should I buy this LR3?

Yeah, the maintenance on these land Rovers are expensive. I have a 2008 bought brand new with 50k miles and so far had to pay for front brake pads and two oil changes. It's killing me. :sombrero: of course, the D1 was a different story.

Diesel in a Jeep again...not the wrangler

And yet another thread that turns into a mirror of our current political debate. A poster presented a few facts in response to a biased opinion and he is villified with this political garbage. I'm going to drop off Expo again for another several months. I was curious to find out about a...

It's official - ADV bikes are trendy

    New Defender Concept

Which is exactly why this isn't their target market. Old Rover owners are always going to disagree with the brand trying to keep up with the rest of the world and not continue to offer a vehicle that has the features of a vehicle offered decades ago. I'm sure they realize that they will take a...

Saw my first Range Rover Evoque last night in Paris

I dunno. I see new RRs on the road every day around here and never seen one towing anything. The RR around here is an all weather personal transport for urban dwellers too. Most are younger hipsters with a lot of money. Since big SUVs are no longer trendy a lot of these people are moving...

Who's still running both a CB and HAM

Excuse my ignorance, but are there units that combine both CB and 2M, so you only have to run one?

Saw my first Range Rover Evoque last night in Paris

Agreed. Hopefully they sell so many that they have the extra cash and market status to gamble on bringing the 2013 Defender over here. :sombrero: I wonder how much the Evoque will canibalize the RR sales.

Saw my first Range Rover Evoque last night in Paris

I really don't know. I'm guessing because the local dealer has my email from our LR3 purchase a couple of years ago and I got invited because I'm local.

Land Rover Discovery 1 or 2, or Range Rover Classic 1 or 2

I fell the exact same way about Toyotas. I really try to like them but I just don't feel right in them. I completely agree with everything said. The OEM tires are the absolute worst tire in history. Once you replace those you are fine. I have 20k on my Hankooks and no noticible wear and no...

Saw my first Range Rover Evoque last night in Paris

I just got an invite this morning from Land Rover USA to test dive one at Pebble Beach next week. I may be diving in Monterrey next weekend so I may sign up.

How many people with 300tdi Defenders drive around Africa? Not too many I would guess. Now that you issued the challenge, I'm sure someone will take it around africa Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I like it.

Paper maps for the Central and South America?

Yeah, for Centro use a combination of Nat Geo, ITM, and locally produced maps depending on country. You'll find that even the most recent ones aren't necessarily up-to-date. I found out that a lot of dirt roads which look good on maps aren't navigable for half the year. Also check...

Land Rover Discovery 1 or 2, or Range Rover Classic 1 or 2

Don't test drive a LR3 if you don't have the budget. At 6'5" you will quickly realize that you should be in a LR3 and not a RRC, D1 or D2. I'm 6'2" and drives of any distance in a D1 were awkward and painful. The ergonomics just don't work with tall people. Your legs will be jammed and at an...

    Stupid Mistake - I drove a G500 today

That was always my number one reason why I would never own one. But, when you set your mind on something you find way to justify your actions. So I figured now that I'm starting to work from home some, bike/train commuting and spending less on gas, wouldn't be used as a DD, ... Of course...

    Stupid Mistake - I drove a G500 today

I've been thinking of picking up a Range Rover Classic as a play vehicle and decided I may as well drive a G to get it out of my system. I new there would be something about it that I didn't like and then I could just forget about them. Well, other than the color I loved it. 3 Factory diff...

    DI v.s DII

Well, I guess me and everyone else I know got extremely lucky. No one that I know with an LR3 has had any problems with them. I know there are problems out there but I have had zero. Okay, okay, the OE tires were junk but that's it other than oil changes and brake pads. Sure, it's only been...

    La Vida Nica

I assumed it had to do with the cost, but I also initially thought it would be cheap due to it being grown locally. It's funny what sticks in your mind when you travel. Thinking of Nicaragua just brought back a memory of having the best chicken lunch ever at a restaraunt in Diriamba, and I'm...
