Post your Flip pac Torsion bar failure or success

I never posted my torsion bar experience up here: 2003 FP, bought used in 2009 Currently on a 1996 Chevy K1500 Z71 (XCSB, 3-door) Never any problem during my ownership. It has been on three different trucks and been off-roaded some. I was most concerned about cracking the camper shell in...

Post your Flip pac Torsion bar failure or success

This seems like a good idea if FRP follows through. I have noticed my FP is slightly out of alignment at the clamps, mostly b/c the lid is a little twisted from the constant torque on it. But I'm not sure how FRP might remedy that. New lid is the only thing I can think of... bb

Talk me out of this if you can

Break over is only a problem if there are only wheels/casters at each end of the camper. A third (or fourth) pair of wheels/casters will solve that problem...and help distribute the weight. bb

WTB Flippac for a full size domestic truck

Hey there, In reading your post, I'm not sure what size shell you are looking for. There are several different lengths that I can think of that are 'larger' in size. I live in AG and have a FP on my 96 Chevy x-cab, short-bed. I would be happy to show you mine and help you determine what you are...

    Broken Flip Pac Torsion bar/help fixing?/sell As-Is?

Hi Shannon, These are very useful camper shells. So, I'd encourage you to find a way to use it. Maybe Martyn at AT can help you get it fixed up. One concern: it appears that there is some delamination in the lid at the corner near the broken bar. It would be unusual for there to be delam...

    FlipPac screw repair question

I think you are on to appropriate repair methods. I would take those plastic fixtures off and add some silicone around the holes. Just a dab will do ya. Mine had some glue or paint that had gotten brittle. I cleaned that up and put it back together with new deck hinges like these available at...

adding BAG AWNING track to flip pac

adding BAG AWNING track to flip pac

There are threads on drilling into/through the shell. New flip pac RAIN FLY

https://youtu.be/Li_Ur6Lmh6Y We did a quick vid of the install. It shows me doing exactly what mb28 and bintang describe. I, too, loop the fly's corners around the struts. I actually take a slightly different approach, but it's the same idea. I know some have struggled with the install. This...

Were you able to register your truck w/ expo camper shell setup as a house car?

Reviving an old thread here. I registered my 1996 Chevy K1500 Z71 as an RV, saving me about $100/year in DMV fees. I only wish I had done it earlier. A little of the back story: I found a used FlipPac on CL about 7 years ago. It was too big to fit my T100, but I bought it anyway and decided to...

Mount ARB fridge in camper or inside truck cab?

My fridge rides in the cab with me but is wired to the solar- and alternator-charged deep cycle battery in the truck bed. I installed an IBS battery isolator. Works well as I set up my camp kitchen alongside the truck. Easy to get to food while cooking. So, to me, it make sense to have the...
