This is awesome, I'll give it a shot, thank you for the detailed writeup. If anyone else does it differently, let us know. The usable sensor limit was stumping me, where did you find this info? I found something about .5v-4.5v, but nothing about the translated values when I was searching around.
I picked up a set of adjustable length rods a while back with the intent of using them not for lift, but to adjust my sensors to allow maximum adjustment with my Gap tool. I decided I should finally get around to doing this, then realized I actually have no idea how to adjust them optimally...
These are all attainable. A good suspension/race shop will make you custom longer control arms (For example 3Rauto.com in Denver would fabricate those). RCV will make HD axles for you (I have a set purchased through Lucky8) and Land Rover Passion will make custom travel/height adjustable...
I picked up a set of unstudded Haaka LT3's and they have been working very well on ice and in deep snow so far. These were the conditions yesterday and it handled them wonderfully without chains.
Thanks for the tip. I'll check out the RUD chains and if you happen to recall the guy who does custom post his info. The cables I tried last weekend were no good because they were a little stretchy, which meant they moved around on my tire under torque. They also did an odd thing as they...
I'm at 8300' elevation, so there is snow on the ground a good period of time. I'm considering no studs and just using chains as well which is part of why the LT3's I am getting will be 32", vs the 34" tires I have on now, to have room to actually clear chains. I tried some of the Super Z8...
I'm running 34s with an SYA kit and it's hard to see how 35s would work, which is why I am so curious. I too have the limit straps and if those axles went on sale I would buy a set to be able to remove my limit straps and get that extra travel back. I had to winch twice just last weekend in...
Ha, reminds me of the saying that whenever someone says "no offense intended" they mean to offend you :)
Why would I get studs in CO? As I said, I'm on the fence, but plenty of guys I wheel with say they are still far better than studless winter tires. In fact, 2 of the 3 I went snow bashing...
I had the opposite experience, just ordered a set of LT3's and couldn't get them studded. The tire shop offered to stud them when they come in next week though, I'm still on the fence. I'm leaning towards no studs thinking they would perform better on the rocks I see so much of around...
Same. I did the matte on this one specifically because I found the stock red a little purple for my taste but the matte turned it into something I really like. My first time wrapping A vehicle. I'll reserve judgement for a year but so far it really does seem to protect quite well against pinstripes.
I returned mine, didn't like it much at all.
Pros - Great magnetic charging mount. Integrates with Garmin InReach. Supports cameras. Integrated tilt-sensor (only accurate below about 10mph though).
Cons - Interface is terrible. Voice recognition is worse than your phone 5 years ago. Has an...
It's not just you, I am on 3 pretty much every weekend. Depends on the terrain you wheel in I guess. Mine is pretty rocky. Hard to find a line up this that doesn't lift a wheel.
More things in my wishlist. Make remote height changes work without having the hazards on. Probably once a week I walk to the car with my wife and realize I forgot to leave it in access mode, would love to just use the remote to lower it.
Low range triggered changes are interesting. I would love to disable my parking sensors in low, as well as my tpms or even set a separate pressure threshold for low range like 10psi. I know this will never happen but hey, it's a wishlist. So many other little niggles I could fix if only I...
No luck enabling paddle shifters in drive, I think I read that it is available on European models. Would be a nice addition to gap for sure. Isn't there some way to see non-verified config settings?
