Another T-belt question from a new member (sorry)

In your case, think of what you're doing as 2 separate jobs. 1--Front of the engine includes: timing belt/tensioner, water pump, front cam seals(2), crank seal, crank bolt/washer 2--Top of the engine includes: valve cover gaskets, spark plugs/wires, spark plug tube grommets(6), rear cam...

    Gen 2.5 Front Cam Seals

I would say the job pretty much requires you to remove the pump housing even if you're not replacing it. The pump housing is sandwiched between the water pump and the engine block, however some of the bolts that attach the pump housing to the block are "through bolts" that will be loosened when...

    Stuck crankshaft pulley bolt

Like nckwltn said, do not use the pulley holder against the frame to loosen the crank bolt with a bump start. Put a socket on the bolt, and wedge your breaker bar against the frame. I'd also pull the plug wires off of the coil packs/coil plug wire so the engine doesn't accidentally start...

manual transmissions in a gen 2 educate me please.

92-93 Gen 2 Monteros came in four trim levels: base, RS, LS and SR. Only base and RS could come with manual. In 94, the Montero lineup lost the base and RS trim levels. The manual Gen 2s are pretty rare here in the states. I'd say check it out!

97SR Won't Come Out of Park

There is a lock in the shifter mechanism which releases in Park only when the brake pedal is depressed. There is a cable that runs between the brake pedal and the shifter which controls the actuation of the lock. In order to access the locking mechanism on the shifter end of the cable, you'd...
