    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

Thanks for the link, that'll come in handy. Looking at the chart I can't help but wonder what the 30mm would feel like. :D The more I drive it the more I lean toward bushings being the steering issue. It doesn't have a dead spot so much as it just pulls ever so slightly to whatever direction it...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

Such a fun desert car, it's such a lightweight even loaded with gear it just doesn't sink. :smiley_drive: It does not make a good tent though, unless you are less than 5 feet tall. I am never sleeping inside it again.

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

Thanks for the tip on the bushings, I'll start there. The "budget build" is just about over, and a complete replacement of all bushings, swaybars (to HD), and links is planned after the wrap-up. Oh, and the stereo... because aside from sounding like an iPhone 3GS that was dropped in a lake, it...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

Nope, not at all. There was a noticeable wobble that was transmitted from the axle, through the hub, and back up through the do-hickeys to the steering wheel, but it didn't pull to either direction and wasn't the cause of the dead-spot around center. Aside from the wobble, there were no symptoms...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

That's exactly what I did, so easy that way. Unfortunately, the lifted springs made it just that half-an-inch too tall to swing free easily so I had to compress them a little. I'll admit I lost about 30 minutes trying to find that roll pin before finally figuring out 2003+ models just snap into...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

I went the cheap route this time ($45) since only the front passenger was busted, I'll go with the HD axles at all four corners at a later date. Surprisingly easy, though messy, job to do. If I had kept my coil spring compressor handy I doubt it would have taken much more than an hour. I love...

    2015 discovery sport

I never thought I'd say this: I like the Discovery Vision concept better. As said above, as a replacement to the LR2 it's not half bad... sort of like a luxury Forester. I'm anxious to see what the other 4 Discoverys will be (remember, Discovery is supposed to be a "line" now like Range Rover).

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

Nice, about three times the price but they sound well worth it. Thanks!

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

Those wouldn't happen to work on a SG Foz as well, would they? I need to replace the axles anyhow as they were ripped up when we got the car, might as well go HD if we can.

ExPo Welcomes XVENTURE Off Road Trailers to Expedition Portal!

I've only used the manual version. Basically, you pull a pin in each riser bar and lift. The rack mounts are hinged so you can do just the front then just the back (easier than doing all 4 at the same time). It's best to have two people. I can attest to the rack system's stability in the raised...

ExPo Welcomes XVENTURE Off Road Trailers to Expedition Portal!

Their presence feels substantially larger due to their square full-width cargo box, which has wheel wells instead of being narrow to fit between the wheels. They're actually only a foot wider and a less than 2 feet (vs. AT Horizon) or just a few inches (vs. AT Chaser) longer. The stance is two...

Our spare is in the stock location on the Foz. I did have to let all the air out first, but it dropped in with minimal fuss after that.

    Apple cancels Aperture

Photo Mechanic looks like a pretty good deal actually, especially for someone who does editing exclusively in Photoshop and only uses Lightroom for organization. With the price tag covering up to three computers (one user) I can't help but wonder how it would handle running across a network share.

    Apple cancels Aperture

Thanks Ryan, that may well be where we've gone wrong with Aperture. I'll look into the referenced option, it may well ease the issues we've been having for years with the library, as well as make the transition to Lightroom a bit easier. While Ryan's comment makes the point somewhat moot, I...
