First gen Tundra. Bigger than the taco, smaller than the F-150.
This is a very subjective question. Drive them first, you’ll know what you can live with and without. For me the seating position and visibility of the Taco were abysmal, total deal breaker.
Count me as another who hates the seating position of the Tacoma. Feels like I’m sitting on the floor and somehow I still would find myself ducking down to see out upper areas of the windshield. And I’m only 5’11”.
Why did you go with 255/70’s in the first place? Seems like a 275/65 would have also fit? Just curious.
If you want to keep your stock 18’s a 285/65 is dimensionally identical to a 285/70/17. But I get wanting to go to 17’s and especially 285/70’s. Tons of tire choices.
Wow! That chrome tape really takes me back to the ‘85 Nissan 4x4 our family had when I was growing up. I haven’t seen that in ages, it looks awesome on yours. And your photos are always top notch ?
Do you have a build thread for the 3rd gen?
Do you want a matching spare wheel for your 2016+ Tacoma Limited so you can do a 5 tire rotation? Well here you go. These wheels are $601 each from Magic Toyota and those don’t even come with center caps! I’m only asking $140 each including the cap. Or buy all 3 for just $350. They will also fit...
As a Sequoia owner... I agree with this. It is the best bargain for Toyota 4x4’s so if having some $$$ left over in your piggy bank is a concern it is a great choice.
Not exactly the same scenario but I went from a Tundra (coils/leafs) to a Sequoia (coils) and the ride quality is night and day better with the same suspension setup. Also due to the shorter wheelbase the turning radius is much improved. However the main reason why I made the switch was that I...
They’re both excellent vehicles. Mentioning that you tow makes me lean towards the 200 but really you’ll have to drive each one and see which is preferable to you.
