He has a manual so he won’t need trans upgrades. But year a 4 inch exhaust is a nice touch. Pain in the ass to install though.

I am also in need of my new shocks because my 2000 stock shocks are totally clapped at this point. I was planning on getting new ones when I did a lift but if these Konis are that cheap then it might make sense to just do the swap now and then replace them again in a few more months when I...
Nice rig! Looks just like mine. Mine is also a 2000.
Interested to see what you do with yours. Headlights and bumper are on my list but so far basically everything I’ve done has been mechanical.
One thing that I would recommend for reliability is to always keep a test light, glow plug...
Obviously it would be totally catastrophic to have to replace the whole engine if the CP4 goes down. Thankfully the aftermarket has an answer. There is a CP4 bypass kit that protects the engine if and when the CP4 kicks the bucket. With the kit you will only have to replace the CP4 unit, not the...
Compared to the cost and time it takes to do something like this yourself, I agree it’s not that expensive. Boxes alone are like 30k and then you’re talking about 20-30k on top of that for everything else, plus hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of time.

My 2000 7.3 power stroke was almost stolen a few weeks ago. Even with the manual trans, someone tried to use vice grips to turn the ignition and broke it.
Paid a locksmith $300 to fix it and I am planning on putting a security system in it next month.
The trucks are very valuable and pretty...
This is an insanely awesome rig. And well priced for the amount of work that has gone into it. Someone is about to get an amazing deal on a really well thought out vehicle.
GLWS.

Good luck! I tried forever to find one but after months and months all I could find were rusted out examples. Even ones with low miles.

Nothing wrong with towing with a hemi. But if you’re doing it all the time then the diesel might be a good idea. The 6.4 is plenty powerful enough to tow a 5-10k pound boat or whatever every now and then. You’ll just get terrible mileage.

Personally I’d just go with a Ford Super Duty Tremor with the 7.3 in the lariat trim with the ultimate package. I’d also add a factory winch. Will be 85% as nice inside as a PW but with far better towing/payload numbers (which are more important to me), and probably cost around the same as a...
Wood framing isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as it is well built. But 40k is a lot for a wood framed camper with no composites.

Man I was really considering going in the Kenai direction for my winter backcountry ski rig but at this point from the reviews above it sounds like really the only true four season turnkey options are going to be Northern Lite/Bigfoot. Much more expensive when new but can be had for a similar...
