is that gasket behind the housing one someone would typically replace? if so, i'll make sure i can get my hands on that.and yes its that one, although if not many people like dnj i wonder why that would be? hmmmm.. great tip there with the caps btw! i will need to copy you! lol
so i'll do a template on some cardboard as well as baggies for misc parts. sounds good! so far i've got a lot of stuff i'm planning on replacing, most of this stuff is coming from rockauto.com looks like. right now i've got:
lash adjusters-clean and replace if needed

its ok, i live in the mountains, work under the table on the property i live on and i have nothing but time. if i had a nice garage i could start a business! yes i'm going over the cost for all the parts right now, writing that down and going over dis-assembly in my service manual.

http://chico.craigslist.org/cto/4822054136.html here's a pretty good lookin' gen 1. says engine has been fully rebuilt, i'd take that with a grain of salt. will trade for something too, seems like he wants to get rid of it fast. could definitely get this one for half i bet!

i'll do more searching in the redding area! i just moved up here recently and i ain't too familiar with the cities around here besides weaverville. I'm definitely interested, like to do alot of backpacking and have been itching to get out and do something. send me a pm when ready!
i've got the same issue on mine, i haven't tried seeing if the heater core actually works, but if someone went through the trouble to bypass the heater core i'm sure its done for. what's a good place to get a quality core? I'm a little strapped on cash.
sounds like a plan! I'd be interested in checking that out, certainly if the wiring is there i can figure out a way, but it may be too much of a hassle in which case i've got a perfectly good hula dancer stuck to my tray. lol
