    '08 Hunting/harvest report

33 birds on Saturday (middle zone opener), 29 today. Mixed bags, including the rare black duck on Saturday. My uncles dog did great for her first hunt at our blind. I felt lazy not having to chase every downed bird. Awesome weekend!

Should I take a hint from my dog?

Funny thing is, I always left that particular call off my lanyard because 1) it was passed down and 2) I never felt I could do it much justice. Now on Saturday I felt like I was finally starting to get a handle on it and was planning on taking it out for the opener this weekend. I even put it...

Should I take a hint from my dog?

It was an RNT that my grandpa gave to my dad 20 years ago with his name (same as mine) engraved in the band, but my dad can not (or will not) blow a duck call so it was handed down to me. It was basically in perfect condition but now it's not. I was "practicing" earlier in the day, dog did not...

    Current River Fall Float

It's a Fleetwood Neon. Not really an offroad trailer, just a small pop-up.

    Shower and toilet enclosure thread

Tried out the Trekker privy this weekend and am pretty pleased with it. The biggest downside is there are no provisions for hanging dry clothes, towels, etc., but other wise it works great. Setup and take down was simple and straight forward.

    Current River Fall Float

Natasha and I loaded up the camper, boat, and dogs for a two day float on the Current River. We set up the camper on a gravel bar Thursday night, kicked on the heater, and went to bed. Friday morning we slept in until almost 7:00! We skipped breakfast and headed for the put in up river at...

    Air bags for load management

Hilux_Max, would limiting straps be an option if the droop in your suspension exceeds the limitations of the bags?

Stock NISMO CC - need measurement

Can anyone with a stock suspension crew cab take a measurement from the middle of the wheel/hub to the bottom of the fender in the wheel arch, fron and rear? Preferably with an empty bed if possible. Thanks!

    The Goony Bird

My Neon has heat, but I've never seen them offered with a sink. Are you sure you weren't looking at Cobalt?

    The Goony Bird

That's one of the characteristics that attracted me to our Fleetwood Neon. The tires are outboard the trailer body and the track width is pretty much the same as my truck. Quite the sacrifice on interior space, but it comes in handy when getting through tight spots.

Who can't wait for the Ice? Ice fishing that is!

Last winter, I duck hunted with a guy who ice fishes in the UP of Michigan and some in Canada. It really was fascinating listening to him talk about how it's done. The thing that made me laugh the most was that you go outside to pee and go inside to fish.
