Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

So true story: I’ve got a buddy with a 100-series Lexus. He was unable to go on a trip with me anthe local overlanding club because it was down getting new axle seals and bearings. On a Ford/Dana type axle, this is an hour job. On his superior Toyota product, it required a press and a special...

VIDEO: Virginia to Montana in a 2019 Ford Ranger

Cool man. I liked it. I haven’t checked out the details for the Expedition Overland Film Festival since I don’t have the skills, equipment or footage, but this should be submitted.

10th Generation F-150 Overland build (The Craptor)

I work in the “space” part of aerospace. We still use Imperial. And I’ve also worked for Boeing. Boeing jets: Imperial.

10th Generation F-150 Overland build (The Craptor)

Awesome. I had a 1st gen Expedition that I really enjoyed. I’ve always liked the look of the 10th gen F150/1st gen Expedition. I took my Expedition on many, many trips- on pavement and off. Check out my link below to my 2000. Miss that truck- and its lack of truck payment.

Thoughts on the new Tahoe Z71/Yukon AT4?

LoL. Is that all you got? That was like 20 years ago. And I owned one of those plug ejecting, timing chain eating motors. I put 265k miles on it and never got to experience either of those things. Maybe it happens after 300k miles. But who knows, maybe in 5 years GM will put a key pad on their...

Thoughts on the new Tahoe Z71/Yukon AT4?

My thoughts? Looks like GM is yet again following the lead of Ford. The Expedition went to IRS back in 2003. The Expedition ditched its removable 3rd row in favor of an integrated fold flat 3rd row in 2003- GM made the switch in something like 2016. GM poked fun at Ford for using aluminum...

Do Full Sized Vehicles Make Good Overland Cars?

Why do you think the “Domestic: Full Size” section Is listed BELOW “Expedition Vehicles: OTHER”? But yet it has the 2nd most topics and messages in the Expedition Vehicle sub-section.

    1997 Explorer Build

Finally got out with Rocky Mountain Overland over the weekend. We headed down to southern Colorado and explored the Rio Grande National Forest. Lots of high mountain meadows, sleeping above 10,500 feet (great break from the 90+ degree heat of the city). Explorer did great- although the trails...

    DadVan build: 05 excursion

he got it built at 303welding.com. Dig thru his Facebook page for pictures. But he doesn’t have plans- he builds each bumper custom to that vehicle. You’d have to bring him the truck. He’s in Denver. Probably take a little over a week per bumper (but don’t hold him to that- that’s just me...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

That’s “highly capable offroad”? I suppose if you’re in some wide open spaces like the deserts of CA, NV and UT. In CO, a rig like that would spend a lot of time on those “offroad” trails with Subarus and minivans. You’re not squeezing that thing between trees that don’t leave much extra room...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Case in point: penis comparison on full display. Or should we just call you Topper? And “your” offroad vehicle sounds pretty military. So that would also make it “my” offroad vehicle.

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Wow! It’s a great thing I have a highly capable offroad vehicle. I’m going to need it to get back on track after this derailment. No one in the real world gives 2 ********** about Ring lap times. Unless you’re standing around comparing penises.

    Expedition Squared build

I looked at the ecoboosts, but they were priced a little higher than I really wanted to spend. Yep, old roof rack transferred over pretty easy. This is now the 3rd vehicle that rack has been installed on. I love that rack.

If it wasn’t for the electrolysis, I’d still have it. It was a good truck.

    Expedition Squared build

Sold this thing back in January. I think I had a case of electrolysis in the cooling system. I was going thru radiators faster than I was changing the oil. Just had enough. It was a great truck. But each month when I make a payment on the replacement, I miss it a little bit. I’ve been making...

    1997 Explorer Build

Still haven’t been out on the trails due to work and the stupid virus (mostly work). I decided to have my front bumper reworked. The “stinger” looked OK but didn’t offer any protection to the front corners (lights, fenders). I took the truck back to the guy that built the bumpers and had him...
