Sounds like a hard look at the EC Core chassis are in order. Probably more than $30K over your Big 3, but would meet your length, (potentially) shipping, and international parts sourcing criteria.
I remember seeing this a while back and thought it was an interesting configuration. Though I would probably put a storage box or tire carrier space behind the cab to move the overhang back a couple of feet.
I'm curious about a Nimble (or frankly anything using a N/S queen bed configuration over cab) on a Regular Cab truck. I'm not seeing anyone doing this configuration and seems like the shorter wheel base would be a benefit. Any thoughts on this? Are there DMV considerations regarding overhang...
I'm curious about how large the gap between cab and habitat is and what you are planning to use to span it? It seems larger than other builds I have seen (pictures only mind you) on other M107X chassis.
When we have gone on surf trips to Baja, we throw rubber snakes under our vehicles to scare off rodents. I also use them under my car in our parking garage. Works like a charm and kind of entertaining to see a mouse sneak under the truck and then scurry off in a panic when they see the "snake"...
How is the 4WD accomplished with the GXV K370 vs. what E/C is doing? I also wonder if you would have similar maneuverability between the platforms if you build a smaller (17') habitat Patagonia.
Not trying to start any arguments, but would love to hear/read about people's thoughts comparing these two platforms. With the cost of the new EC not being that far off from a K370 Patagonia, I'm curious what folks see as the benefits and trade-offs of one platform over the other. Ready, set, go!
I just read that EC is testing the Gas/Petrol Webasto heater and are also testing electric water heaters. We might be seeing the additional Diesel/Kerosene requirement go by the wayside and see a Gas/Electric only EC in the future. It would be nice to see them move to a single liquid fuel source.
I wonder if there are strong contenders for all electric or gasoline heater/water heaters. It seems if you go for the induction top, eliminating the need for diesel/kerosene would be the obvious next step. It seems odd and additionally complex to have a third fuel in the mix.
Who's making the best, or most interesting, non-wood based campers now? With the demise of XPCamper and mixed reviews of other manufacturers, I'm curious who people are looking at and why.
