    Thule Xsporter

Love the idea, but the max load capacity is quoted at 450lb. Assuming that is the static load capacity, you would divide it by 4 to find the dynamic load capacity, which means you can only put the lightest of tents on there at less than 110lb, and you'll be maxing out or exceeding the load...

    AT Tacoma Habitat: Official Thread

Are there any plans for expanding this to fit full sized trucks? I have an F150 that this would be perfect for.

Is the annex/extension room included? Where are you located?

Alu-Cab Has Landed In The USA!

Any idea of plans for full size canopies? I have an F150 that is begging for a decent shell that is designed to support some actual weight. Even better if we could specify a half-height shell to keep at least most of a RTT behind the cab.

    Lens question for Canon

The Sigma and Tamron 150-600mm zooms are you best way to get focal length for cheap, although they both approach $1k. For a little less (maybe?) you can get either the Canon 400/5.6 or 300/4. I love the 400/5.6 even though you need to keep a close eye on the 1/focal length rule to keep the...

Info on best vehicle for overlanding

In photography, there is a saying: the best camera in the world is the in your hands. There is no best vehicle for this stuff, only a good vehicle for what you want to do. Tacomas and LC80s are popular for a lot of reasons, but they'll leave you without an option for a slide-in camper that...

    Newbie lens question

Seconded. The nifty fifty is cheap enough, and the difference between f/1.4 and f/1.8 small enough, that if you don't know that you need the extra half stop of light then don't worry about it. Use that money on insurance for your gear so you feel more willing to ABC.

    Newbie lens question

Assuming an equal f-stop, there wont be a lot of difference between a decent zoom lens at 50mm and a 50mm prime. The prime will be smaller, lighter, and the optics will probably be better corrected, and the lens will probably be more durable and weather resistant, but most of the direct use...

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

I'd cut some angled vents in solid sheet, such that you have 100% shielding against debris and water and grease and **** from the road coming from the front but plenty of drainage and airflow from the rear.

How would you design a vehicle for rescue in flooding and snow?

Simple design (except for the CTIS systems), some were made with a fording kit already installed, large payload, lots of wheels to spread traction over soft ground.

    F150 overland build

What effect does the RTT have on your gas mileage and noise on the highway? I've been trying to find a decent solution for mounting the RTT directly behind the cab, but the taller options (like the rack on yours) are very tempting.

Traded Tacoma for '16 ecoboost F-150. Heresy?!

Can't wait to see all the rust on the bed of the Chevy after ten years of having tool boxes and chunks of concrete dropped in without regard for not abusing the things you spend $30k for.

    **Tepui RTTs and Accessories**

Box Rocket, I'm in the process of planning my kit for my F150 and I'm finding it difficult to find a bed rack/topper that fits what I want, so I figure I'm going to have to build it myself. To that end, can you provide detailed mounting requirements and packed standing heights of the Tepui...

    F150 trucks

I'll have a new F150 soon: 2016 EB 3.5 with the HD payload package. Planning to keep it mechanically stock for a while, but I've been looking for information on something like an alu-cab for the bed or some other decent way to weather-seal the bed but also hide a RTT behind the cab, along with...

PROJECT PAYLOAD, 2007 Harley Edition F250

What was it about the size that stopped you? Length? Width? Weight? I'm about to start building an f150. I wanted the payload of it over a Tacoma, but I'm hoping it was the length of your rig that stopped you rather than the width.
