I was curious about this too, looks like it can vary... most of them have frequencies below 150 MHz locked out but it sounds like some users have been able to enter regular 2M frequencies.

Your new radio is an amateur radio (ham is just another term for amateur radio and it's not an acronym, so no need to capitalize it) and yes, you need a license to legally transmit with that radio. You can receive and listen in without a license, you just cannot transmit.

This doesn't exactly answer your question but it might be helpful in comparing tire weights and other attributes. I put this together a couple years ago when shopping for tires for my Xterra.

That Nemo one looks nice... how bulky is it to store and transport? We have the Helio shower and it's great.
We have a Trekker fold-a-privy shelter and it's decent. It is a little bit flimsy and it does need to be staked / guyed if there's much wind. Haven't used it a lot because more often...
Just curious, but why not the 6.5'? Aesthetic reasons or will it interfere with something else running perpendicular to it?
I haven't seen either of those sizes, but maybe someone else here knows of some options. ARB and others have the 1.25 and 2 meter as you know, and I'm sure one could...
True. But, as others have pointed out, is it worth risking your life or the lives of others on this sensor functioning properly?
The OP asked about running a heater all night. No way I would risk that even if it has a shutoff sensor.
Unfortunately people do die in tents and fishing huts from CO generated by propane heaters. Not necessarily that brand, but here's a couple examples. I think if you search online a little harder you'll find other examples...
You should definitely check out REI's garage sales... you can save a lot on your gear that way, allowing you to get higher quality stuff for entry level gear prices. My current backpacking setup (tent, sleeping bag, backpack) were had for 50% - 70% off.
Sorry I missed this earlier, and ripperj already answered, but I wanted to provide a little more info on what worked well for me.
I knew I needed something stiffer than the very flexible cord to get it through the holes, so I used a short piece of wire from a coat hanger and attached it with...
Not a vehicle specific thing, but modifying a couple of our action packer totes helped make them more useful and helped locate small stuff that used to migrate to the bottom. Cost about a dollar for the elastic shock cord.
Some amazing photos! I love Kerensky97's. I knew there would be great ones out there so I didn't even really try to photograph the eclipse itself. It was incredible experiencing it.
What I did do was point a camera west to get the darkness approaching. This could probably stand some editing...
Thanks for the additional info, rayra, I appreciate it.
To clarify on my clear finish, it's so minimal that all it's doing is reducing the cloudiness and not really building up like a lacquer or coating. Apply tiny amount, wipe down with a rag. Hopefully I'll not have any peeling issues.
