    Winch Mount Bolt Strength

Has anyone ever sheared a winch mounting bolt while winching? I'm asking because I'm fabricating a hidden winch plate and need to make sure I've got enough strength in my attachment points. After thinking it through, it seems that the weakest point in the whole equation is where the winch is...

    Should I buy a 1st Gen Sequoia?

My 05 Sequoia has three buttons. 2WD/4HI button which seems to like being engaged/disengaged while the vehicle is moving under no load. That requires a bit of planning, so basically I hit it as soon as my tires leave the pavement. Then there's 4LO which seems to engage/disengage best when...

    2uz-fe valve train noise

Sorry. But you missed the part where I said it was coming from under the valve covers. With the hood open and me out of the cabin. From both banks. I’m glad y’all were able to trace a noise to the steering shaft boot in your case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2uz-fe valve train noise

This is the one that confuses me. There are lots of "Internet Gurus" who say that the clearances would tighten up as the valves and seats are worn, which would result in poor performance as the valves would start leaking at some point. I understand the concept, but I've got a hard time...

    2uz-fe valve train noise

I’ve recently noticed that I’m getting a lot more valve noise. It’s especially noticeable when I’m in a drive through where I’m right next to a wall. It’s coming from under the valve covers on both banks, and thankfully not from the oil pan. If this was my 95 Formula, I’d pull the intake and...

    attaching drawers to floor?

One of the things that I had to consider was being able to reinstall the rear seats from time to time. So wanted something that was fairly simple to remove. I’ve been through some pretty rugged trails with the drawers fully packed and nothing has come loose yet. But I can certainly see some...

    attaching drawers to floor?

At one point I had considered using perforated square tubing across the seat mounts and extending an inch or so past the outside uprights. I would notch the uprights to accept the tubing and sit flat on the floor. Then use turn buckles to fasten the drawer frame down to the tubes. That plate...

    attaching drawers to floor?

I have an 05. You have to lose some volume just for the structure of the frame and for drawer slides. I use 1/4” turnbuckles from the front of the frame to the (now vacant) rear seat mounts, and 1/4” eyebolts from the rear of the frame to the cargo tie down loops. I’d send pictures but I...

    Should I buy a 1st Gen Sequoia?

Just got my notice in the mail for the frame rust issue. Took her in to the dealer and they're going to apply some Corrosion Resistant Compound. I guess if I hadn't washed the underside all of these years I would have had more rust and may have gotten a new frame out of it.
