*edit 2/10/16* RTT is sold. I have also decided to keep the ARB fridge and the ARB fridge slide. New price $16000 obo. If someone absolutely had to have the fridge and or slide I'm sure something could be worked out.
So I'm thinking about selling my Tacoma. I have only had it for about 9...
Exactly what Jeremy said. Your axles must be binding in order to break so easily. Perhaps the aftermarket cvs don't allow as much movement/droop as the oem versions. If you still have your oem reuse them or buy new oem. Camelback Toyota in az is usually much cheaper than local dealers and most...
Welcome to the addiction!
Looks like you had a very nice Tacoma! Utah is beautiful and offers so much for the outdoors person, I'm sure you will love it there. I've owned quite a few vehicles as well and have yet to find the 1 that can do everything I want. Everything is a compromise... You...
If your already unhappy with the performance, it's only going to get worse with bigger/heavier tires. If at some point you do regear don't waste your time with anything less than 4.88's. I personally would strongly consider 5.29's. Just my opinion...
Sorry about the accident that sucks. Wish I had room and time to pick it up as it sits. Doesn't look like it needs to much work.
If you decide to do a semi or full part out I would be interested in the seats and skid plates...
Thanks, John
If you don't drive super fast on the freeway I would go at least 4.88's. I have an 01 double cab that's fairly heavy (full armor, camper shell, rtt) on skinny 33's. It has 4.88's and is ok. I would almost consider 5.29's for my driving style. I don't drive very fast, usually 70mph on the highway...
Sounds like you carry a lot of gear/weight with you so I would probably go with the aal. It will probably be a little stiff and *** high when unloaded but shouldn't sag when loaded up. I know you said you wanted all ome but you might want to also check out allpros expo leaves. Just a suggestion...
I think it really depends on how often you plan on using them and what your going to be using your vehicle for. Some 1/4" thick Aluminum skids would probably be strong enough and heavy/thick enough for the occasional encounter with some rocks but over time and heavy use would not hold up as well...
Bump
I added a link to the craigslist add in the original post. The craigslist add has 24 pictures of the jeep. I didn't see anything in the rules stating this was not ok, but if it's no ok I will take down the link. The fridge, winch, trailgater, and propane bottle/bracket have been removed...
Couple other items I forgot to mention.
Extended stainless braided brake lines front and rear.
Rotors were turned and new brake pads installed about 5k miles ago.
Fluid in both diffs, transmission, and transfercase all changed less than 5k miles ago.
Custom cooking oven box attached to the...
