My rig has the NP205, and I'm EFI. Apparently Ford kept the same transfer case bolt pattern, so that shouldn't be a problem...
The benefit of the E4OD is that it keeps everything Ford. However, I really want to stay away from all the electronics.
Anyone know how much electronics the E4OD...
Funny, I saw this on craigslist and thought of you, but then went to myself... Justin has a white one...
I had no idea you had TWO!!! :Wow1:
I can assure anyone that might consider buying this that Justin is very detail oriented, and takes VERY good care of his stuff!
Background: I have a 1988 Ford E350 4x4 van with the 460 motor and C6 3-speed automatic transmission.
As we all know, great trails and explorations usually involve some sort of highway driving. Since my van has the C6, highway driving isn't as pleasant or economic as it could be. I have been...
Congrats on getting it up and running again!
Would you be able to measure the maximum distance on the roof racks for me if you get a chance? I need a longer roofline for transporting my aquatic toys...
Also, I didn't see it mentioned, but any reason why you chose the non-turbo? Was it...
Like the others said, I would fix the head gasket and get it running/driving.
See how you like the van, and then start figuring out how you want the interior.
I am not too sure where you are in San Diego, but let me know if you need any help. I live by SDSU and have average mechanical skilz...
This is all really great and all.
But I REALLY wish you could work your magic on the 1991 and older vans...
Seeing these vans makes me want to upgrade to a newer model.
BTW, Great work as usual!!!
I am looking at a FJ45lv in Sandpoint, Idaho, Seagle to be exact. I am curious if anyone is in/near the area that might be able to check it out for me?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Aj,
Do you know who you talked to at GV?
When I called them yesterday, the tech said it was 10-15 years old. And more than likely not a P unit.
Maybe I got the numbers incorrect...
Also, does the GV adapter have four or five bolts? (for the NP205)
What was the E40D mated too?
Is the Gear Vendors set up for the NP205?
Do you have the electronics for both the GV and the E40D?
:Wow1:
And... I would love to hear more about your Cummins swap!!!
Chris,
It appears that you had a decent amount of up travel with the set up on your '78.
How did you accomplish this?
Also what size tires were you running?
Were your front spring hangers still higher in the front vs. the rear as with most of the older vans?
What dual shock kit did you use...
KC... Outstanding epilogue. Not that I would expect anything less.
Cheers to the guy who has probably the longest (time in years) thread here on the portal, the editor of "Wit" magazine, and most of all a good friend and stand-up guy!
I will leave with one line, of many, in your thread...
I personally say NO rack.
But knowing you have all those gremlins, the AO seems to be the best that I have seen.
I had a Kaymar Tradesman for a couple years that I ended up selling. Now the only rack I use is a Yakima or something to hold aquatic toys...
:sombrero:
This one is odd... It was posted about a month ago, I thought it sold.
Maybe it finally sold this time b/c the ad has been deleted.
Anyone here scoop it up?
