    As far as the pump not fitting, I bolted a hole saw to the end of a piece of all thread, made sure the tanks were full ( which ensured all those pieces of plastic floated to the top) and bored out the extra plastic that was preventing the pump from reaching the bottom of the tank. Works great now.
