Weatherproof lightweight truck drawers. Bought or made what's out there?

I had a single full length drawer, 24" wide, made by a kennel company. They build weatherproof, lockable stuff all the time, and this can be moved to a new truck if I ever get one. Mine is stainless steel body and drawer with diamond plate aluminum top, locking drawer with provision for a...

    3rd Gen Ram owners....Skid plates

FCA is already discontinuing some factory parts for the 3G. I needed an A/C clutch rebuild kit a couple months ago and had to chase down NOS.

    Maxtrax Xtreme

Or, aluminum hex bolts in 1/4-20x1" for about 32 cents each on Amazon. Add nuts and washers and you are still in for less than $1 per stud. Lighter weight and easier to grind to length than stainless, and strong enough. Re the "compared to what" issue, my MaxTrax have been worth it in an...

    Maxtrax Xtreme

The knobs on my original MaxTrax are in good shape (because I am careful), but if some get scrubbed off I'll probably try to fit the extreme lugs by drilling out the worn originals. Or just some short bolts with washers and jamb nuts.

    HELP! Power wagon or Cummins?

Not sure if it can make it through the squeeze on elephant hill, but that's another favorite of mine. A PW can go just about anywhere it can fit, and it can fit through The Squeeze.

    HELP! Power wagon or Cummins?

PWs with campers. They are not diesels, because they don't need to be diesels. Pull a travel trailer with a PW? No problem. Pull a load with a PW? OK. Climb a wall with your bone stock PW? Yeah, you can do that, too.

    HELP! Power wagon or Cummins?

The weight difference between the two exists; the question is: what's the likelihood of encountering an area where that weight difference realistically matters? It matters a lot if you get off road in the desert. Weight is your enemy in silty sand.

    HELP! Power wagon or Cummins?

SemperToy's original post does not make it clear that he needs the capabilities of a PW. No mention of serious off road stuff, crawling, mud, etc. But that does not rule out the PW. I have a PW and it is the best truck I have ever owned, so there's my bias. OP can do the diesel maintenance...

Dodge: 4th Gen Topper on 3rd Gen truck (Help wanted)

My only concern (other than the durability) is how the hell I would ever get anything loaded up there with as tall as the the truck is lol. This could be your solution. It's the local 4G with the big ARB rack on it. Ladder was fitted by the fab shop, and attaches to the rack and the drop...

Dodge: 4th Gen Topper on 3rd Gen truck (Help wanted)

How many of you run a roof mounted rack on your Snugtop without the Sportsmans package that increases the load limit of the roof? I have three unreinforced SnugTops and two of them have had racks on them for a long time, 20 years on the GMC and 13 years on the PW. The GMC still has the long...

Dodge: 4th Gen Topper on 3rd Gen truck (Help wanted)

availability of parts for the 06-09 trucks sucks. Even worse for the '05s. Unfortunate, since the '05 PWs are the best of breed. Parts especially tough for the front end (bumpers, light bars, etc.) because of the grill configuration. Also tough for electronics because the '05 was the last...

Chevrolet offering serious off-road performance parts for the ZR2 in 2019, never seen this kind of OEM support

I wish Toyota would do something similar. If Toyota did it, their price would be twice that of the GM stuff.

Chevrolet offering serious off-road performance parts for the ZR2 in 2019, never seen this kind of OEM support

$687.50 for a diff cover is beyond excessive. As is $8K for a set of shocks.

    Vintage Military Tires...

Maybe I'm missing the point, but your trailer has five-bolt hubs. If it is the same bolt pattern as the Jeep, why not run the same tires as on the Jeep so that you then have two extra spares for emergencies? Assuming they will fit in the trailer fenders.

Stronger bar than Yakima round crossbars

Yak, does not publicize it, but their 86" bars come in an HD version with about double the wall thickness of the regular bars. OD is the same, but they take a different end cap. Just cut them to whatever length works for you and stuff in the caps. I generally have three crossbars on my truck...

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

Third Gen Dodge electronics, much simpler to execute. Just stick some Hella rockers into the factory panel and wire 'em up. No CAN bus on my '05 PW.

roof top tent on a snugtop xtr?

I don't have an RTT, but I have regularly carried loads of lumber on the rack mounted to my standard (non-reinforced) SnugTop shell on my GMC. Those loads have been up to 1100 pounds with no damage to the shell. Bent the rack, though. I have a 270 awning on another truck. I went with EZ-Awn...

    Fridge/Freezer Wireless Thermometer

That would probably work, but I have enough going on with my iPhone already so would prefer a dedicated monitor that just does one thing reliably. Thanks for the suggestion.

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

The big SmittyBilt Defender racks (6.5 and 7 feet long) should fit the roof nicely, and can bolt through the sheet metal with supplied well nuts. They have a pretty good installation video on YouTube. I just installed a 6.5 on my fiberglass shell but I did not use the well nuts because I have...
