    1977 Pop Up Camper Rebuild

[PHOTO BOMB WARNING] I took the camper to a 2 night shakedown run at a nearby state park. My plan is to boondock a lot. But for the next year, I live less than hour from 3 or 4 beautiful state parks. While I'm still working the kinks out of everything, it's hard to justify bypassing those just...

So what happens if you get promoted? Do you have to find new stickers (just a little ribbing from a fellow O4)

    The one that got away.

It would've been better if you were like the 10th guy - second makes it even more frustrating

Don't know yet. I need to get it weighed after I register it. I'm kind of scared to find out.... Also, I think when I rebuild the roof I'll shed some weight. Currently the side walls are made of some kind of plastic resin that's really heavy

New/old trailer build 1966 Apache Raven tent trailer

Go look at Wal-Mart before you commit. I got a nice queen size memory foam topper that was 4" thick for like $90-$100 The upholsterer that did my other work had a foam cutting knife and trimmed it to size. SUPER comfortable. An electric hot-knife works too. I also got a 2" topper for the bench...

    1977 Pop Up Camper Rebuild

Well, it rained here most of the holiday weekend and since I won't have time to let the canvas air out and dry, I collapsed it all before the weather turned. I did have time to tweak my awning. I'm copying an idea from Jim65wagon. I bought a large tan tarp from this site The local upholsterer...

    1977 Pop Up Camper Rebuild

Long Post Warning: Big Big Day on the camper! I had a buddy come over and attach the roof. I plan to rebuild the roof next off season and I'll use the old one this season. Then I took it for a spin around the block. This thing hadn't been towed since September of 2011! Looks pretty good behind...

UAV-TD (Urban Assualt Vehicle - tear drop) build

That's the nice thing about those finishes, just sand and recoat. More small coats is better than a few big ones anyway. I used like 7 coats of Varathane for my camper floor and 4 for the counters. It'll turn out great. IF you use 220 grit sandpaper with a random orbit sander on the lowest...

Thanks for the kind words. I've been working on this thing so long I won't know what to do with myself once it's done. This is a weekend project - a LOT of weekends.....
